U.S. stock futures declined on Thursday, as the Dow Jones, Nasdaq 100, and S&P 500 indices fell, following Wednesday’s higher close.

On the economic data front, U.S. initial jobless claims dropped sharply by 22,000 to a seasonally adjusted 187,000 for the week ending July 18. The lower-than-expected figure was down from the previous week's revised 209,000.

Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.67%, and the two-year bond was at 4.31%. The CME Group’s FedWatch tool’s projections show markets pricing a 64.2% likelihood of the Federal Reserve leaving the current interest rates unchanged during July’s meeting.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE: SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ: QQQ), which track the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, respectively, were lower in premarket on Thursday. The SPY was down 0.54% at $743.34, while the QQQ declined by 0.82% to $699.59.
