00:00Episode 3 of just taking a look at live cattle export flows from Australia for the first half
00:04of 2026. We've seen about 265,000 head of cattle shipped out of the country as at June. That's down
00:11about 29% compared to this time last year. Indonesia continues to take the lion's share
00:16of the trade. The market share of Indonesia has increased to 77% of flows. The other two key
00:22markets we normally see are China and Vietnam. China's market share has actually dropped to 3%
00:27this year, and Vietnam's down below 1% of the share. In fact, Vietnam's seen a drop of about
00:3296% in terms of volumes from this time last year to now. However, other markets have started
00:38to pick up the slack a little bit. Flows to Jordan are up 30%. Flows to the Philippines are up
00:4411%.
00:45Turkey has also taken extra cattle. However, we can't compare percentage gains because for the
00:50first half of 2025, Turkey didn't take any, and this year they've taken significant numbers.
00:56And the other market that's increased has been Pakistan. So some of those alternative markets
01:00have started to pick up the slack, and they represent now about 20% of total flows. So
01:06it's good to see the market diversifying, but it is a bit worrying that we're seeing Vietnam
01:10and China not as aggressive as what they have been in previous years. See you when you've got nothing on.
