00:00So here at ABEARS Outlook today we heard that the Australian Ag industry is set
00:03to hit a hundred and one billion dollars in GVP or farm gate output this year
00:07which is smashing that 100 billion by 2030 target out of the park so that's a
00:12positive sign that the Australian agricultural industry has been so
00:15resilient the problem with that is that if people in communities and people in
00:20positions of making decisions about policy hear that only and they don't
00:25hear about what else is happening in Australian Ag that they don't really
00:28understand how the benefits are distributed across Australian
00:31agriculture we know that as an entire aggregated industry we're doing well
00:35but we also know that there are a lot of Australian farmers out there really
00:38struggling with profitability very challenged by climate impacts by
00:42geopolitical tensions by trading situations changing without notice and
00:47we're a little worried at the Australian Farm Institute that a focus on 101 billion
00:51has been a huge success masks the other policy needs that we still have as an
00:55industry and that we want to make sure our front and center when it comes to
00:58people supporting agriculture in the way that we need that support as well
