Ten vibrant new murals have been created across Pembrokeshire - including one at a primary school in Tenby - as part of ‘Murluniau Menter’ project to welcome the National Eisteddfod to the county. The project has seen local graffiti artist Lloyd the Graffiti create ten unique murals in communities across Pembrokeshire that included - St Dogmaels; Crymych; Newport; Fishguard; Penrhyn Dewi; Haverfordwest; Milford Haven; Pembroke; Tenby and Narberth. The murals celebrate Welsh language, culture and identity, creating a colourful visual welcome as the National Eisteddfod comes to the county. Each mural is unique and inspired by the local community and area, using street art as an exciting and modern way to promote the Welsh language and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Pembrokeshire. A spokesperson for Tenby primary school, Ysgol Hafan Y Môr shared: “A huge thank you to Menter Iaith Sir Benfro for organising for the talented artist Lloyd the Graffiti to paint the front wall of our school to celebrate Eisteddfod y Garreg Las, which is coming to Pembrokeshire from 1st–8th August. “The vibrant mural represents so much of what makes Tenby special. From the Five Arches, our beautiful beaches, Ironman, the equal sign, and the lifeboat, to celebrating the remarkable artist Gwen John, the artwork tells the story of our town and community.”
