Check out this emotional moment a young girl is left overwhelmed with joy when her aunt surprises her after she thought the long-awaited visit had been cancelled.

Alexius Murrell captured the heartwarming reunion after her sister, a Delta Air Lines employee, secretly arrived to surprise her niece.

The video shows the little girl spotting her aunt before running into her arms for an emotional embrace, unable to hide her excitement after believing the trip had been diverted.

Alexius explained that her sister had previously told her niece she would be visiting, but hours before the scheduled arrival she said the flight had been diverted, leaving the child disappointed. This time, however, the surprise was real.

Alexius said: “One thing that makes me even more emotional is that I gave birth to my daughter at home on my sister's birthday. They're birthday twins.”

Viewers were deeply touched by the reunion.
