Watch as a mother and daughter break into emotional reactions after discovering a family member has secretly returned home after more than 20 years away.

Josh Trecartin captured the heartfelt reunion in his hometown of Fredericton, Canada at an airport and outside his sister's home.

The video shows the moment Josh surprises his family after flying across the country home for his birthday without telling them.

Arriving alongside his mother’s boyfriend while he was off work, Josh quietly enters before revealing himself to his unsuspecting mom and sister.

Both are left completely stunned before quickly becoming emotional as they realize he is finally home.

The emotional moment was shared online and Josh said: "I moved away from home over 20 years ago and don’t get to see my family as often as I’d like. This year, for my birthday, I decided to fly across the country home as a surprise with my mom’s boyfriend while he was on days off."

"My mom and sister had no idea I was coming. The video captures their genuine surprise and emotional reactions when they realized I was home. It was a special family moment that meant a lot to all of us."
