00:00Oh boy, this could be a biggie, this could be the big one Elizabeth, you know what I
00:11was thinking about, I want to talk about the world cup, but there is a lot of percolating
00:16news regarding LeBron to Miami and they've taken it off the book on hard rock bet.
00:26But Pat Riley was on with Levitard today and now I did read that that interview was taped,
00:33but I can't imagine it was taped much more than a day ago, if that, but again, there
00:40are myriad opportunities that Pat Riley has had starting with the press conference to
00:45poo poo this, Hey, would be great.
00:48And he has not there.
00:50There's too much smoke right now for me, not to believe that there's some sort of fire
00:57now, could LeBron do something that, you know, uh, anywhere he ends up in Cleveland
01:02or golden state or Philly.
01:03Sure.
01:03I mean, he's, he's drama.
01:05There's drama.
01:07He's going to make the decision that he wants to make, but there's so much stuff percolating
01:13that I'm having a tough time believing that we're not going to find out today.
01:20That LeBron is coming to Miami.
01:22That's my gut instinct.
01:25Got being effort to being at fanatics and talking to different people, a bunch of different
01:29people.
01:30They were really saying like, this is a hard decision for him.
01:32They're like, we don't even know like people, you know, around him.
01:35I'm not saying rich Paul doesn't know, but some people that have been around.
01:38He's like, man, I've everybody's asking him and he's kind of shrugging his shoulders.
01:41He's still trying to figure it out, which is, which is honestly great for us.
01:46If we're on the table, if we're on the table, that's all you want.
01:50You want to, you want to know that the decision hasn't been made yet.
01:53And again, it just feels like everything is pointing towards Miami right now.
02:00And I was thinking about this over the weekend.
02:03How many times since LeBron has been gone, have we said something along the lines of,
02:10you know, sometimes you don't realize you're in the good old days.
02:15Until you're out of them.
02:17And it goes along with, if you're getting married, people always say, make sure you
02:22take a moment to enjoy your wedding because there's going to be so much swirl.
02:27It's going to be over.
02:28And then all of a sudden you're not even going to remember.
02:30You're not even going to have tried the food, you know?
02:32And I know that I've said just on this radio show over the last decade, you know,
02:39if you didn't appreciate it while you had it, shame on you.
02:46How many sports fan bases?
02:50And again, there is no word yet, but how many sports fan bases would get to re-engage with
03:00a moment in time that seemingly was gone forever and you get to re-experience it?
03:08Okay.
03:09Well, back around and there's a real possibility that we get that because there is a big three.
03:14I mean, if LeBron comes here, there's a big three, Giannis, Pam, LeBron, that is a big
03:21three.
03:22That's not a faux big three.
03:23That's a legit big three.
03:25And we would be able to experience a second version of that.
03:32And now you'd be able to experience it with your son.
03:37And like, there's like, it's, there's something on the table for all of us here in Miami sports
03:43fans, there's something on the table that you normally don't get to re-experience.
03:49And again, I'm not saying it's going to happen, but if it does, what a blessing we get as sports
03:54fans in South Florida.
03:56And, you know, you read into stuff you hear and see, and I heard, and I saw it online and
04:02somebody else was like, he's, he's trying to make the best decision for Bryce and his
04:06daughter.
04:07It was like, he wants his family to be happy.
04:09Like if it was all about his happiness, it was like, it's his family happiness.
04:13And I don't know if that's Cleveland or Philly.
04:15If I want to make my daughter happy, I can come back to Miami.
04:19Savannah loves it down here.
04:21You know what I'm saying?
04:22Like, that's what I'm saying.
04:23Like there's all these breadcrumbs.
04:25Yeah.
04:25That's the tea leaves, but I'm, I might be reading them in a different way than other
04:29people are reading them.
04:30Well, that's true too.
04:31I think we're reading all this through the prism of being Miami heat fans because I, I just,
04:38and I didn't talk to him today, but as I was driving to the studio, I was thinking if
04:41I called my brother right now in Chicago, now he's not on social media.
04:44He watches ESPN.
04:46He listens to Chicago sports talk radio.
04:50If I called him and said, where do you think LeBron is going to end up?
04:55I think he would probably say Cleveland and maybe Philly.
04:59I don't.
05:00And then if I said, I think he's coming to Miami, I think he would be surprised.
05:04Like really, why would he go back to Miami?
05:08Doesn't, doesn't, doesn't everyone hate him there?
05:10Doesn't, you know, and it's, and, and so we are seeing it through the prism of obviously
05:15being heat fans, but that doesn't mean that we're wrong.
05:18No.
05:20And do we hate him?
05:21Nope.
05:22We did.
05:23When he left.
05:24Heat fans hated him when he left.
05:26Yeah.
05:27And, but that's, I mean, that's fandom.
05:29I mean, hated the, the character.
05:31I don't know if you ever hated the person, how he left.
05:34I don't think anybody hated LeBron.
05:36You, you sided up, right?
05:38You squatted up for Riley there.
05:40There was, when he left, there were two teams, right?
05:44You had to choose a team.
05:45Couldn't play both teams.
05:46You could either be on team Riley or you could be on team LeBron.
05:50And we all sided with team Riley.
05:52Yeah.
05:54But Hawk, to your point about, are we reading this through the prism of heat fans?
06:00We are, there's no doubt about it, but for weeks, we've been talking about the best basketball
06:05fit.
06:05And for weeks, we've all been saying, it seems pretty evident with the way teams are constructed
06:10currently, nothing's changed that it's the Miami heat for LeBron.
06:15And I think we're seeing more and more people outside of Miami now realizing what we all
06:23realized weeks ago, which is, hey, purely from the basketball fit, this is the best stop
06:29for him.
06:30And if we know LeBron, which I think most people do, he wants to compete.
06:35So to me, I think that's what's happening right now.
06:37That's why the lines are moving.
06:39That's why Miami from Saturday night to Sunday morning was all of a sudden a favorite on
06:44Cal, she, and then on hard rock, they were up to plus 100 a couple hours ago because more
06:50and more people are saying, oh, that makes a lot of sense.
06:52Well, I would say too, that let's say you even believe Miami and Philadelphia are both
06:59equal basketball destinations.
07:01Yeah.
07:02Well, then Miami's got to get the nod.
07:04If you're thinking about his kids and Savannah and his happiness and golf courses, if the
07:12two things, the two teams are equal basketball wise, then Miami will get the nod.
07:18Yeah.
07:19And when it's basketball fit or better roster, now you're, I guess, I think you're splitting
07:25hairs there.
07:25You're splitting hairs more.
07:26Because he fits here.
07:29He can run the point for, man, to play with Jalen Brown, to play with, you know, them
07:34young boys, what's his name?
07:35Vijay and, and, and, and, uh, and Maxie and all those guys, bro, they got a squad.
07:39And even if Joel Embiid's not healthy, that's what everybody's talking about.
07:42Joel's not going to play.
07:43Don't put him in the five.
07:45They still have a hell of a squad.
07:47It's going to be very interesting.
07:49Ira Winderman is going to join us this hour from the Sun Sentinel.
07:52So we will talk some Miami heat with him.
07:54What a finish to the world cup Saturday.
07:57The third place match was one of the best sporting events for entertainment purposes that I've ever
08:03watched in my life.
08:04In my life.
08:06Give me that soccer.
08:07Well, and, and so you could make the case that it was a little too loosey goosey for
08:12soccer purists, but just for entertainment purposes, that was, I mean, you couldn't have a more
08:20entertaining match for nil.
08:22There's no chance a team is coming back.
08:26And then all of a sudden you're like, what the hell's going on?
08:28By the way, Lee Sterling nailed that on the show.
08:30I had brunch with him on Saturday and he said, are you riding with me?
08:36Are you riding with Solana?
08:38Cause Solana was on France, France.
08:41And, uh, and I said, I'll ride with you.
08:43Cause you've been hot lately.
08:44And Lee, when they were like up three nil, he's texting me.
08:48He's like, I don't know if I've ever had a laugher like this one.
08:51And then all of a sudden it's four, one or two.
08:54And I'm texting him.
08:56Like, you get nervous.
08:57He's like, yeah, a little bit, but he out soccer.
08:59Do you?
09:00Yeah.
09:01But how could I have known that the French team was going to put up a worse defense than
09:06they did in, in 1942 against Germany?
09:10I mean, what the hell was that?
09:12They were all basically drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes, eating a croissants.
09:17And then finally in the second half, they're like, all right, maybe we should try a little
09:20bit.
09:22When I was, when they were going up, I'm sitting at the bar in New York and they're going up,
09:28you know, four, three Oh four Oh.
09:30And I'm cheering.
09:31And there's some, some people from England, some English people next to me with the accents
09:36and all, and we're slapping hands.
09:38And then France starts coming back and I'm cheering still.
09:41And this little three foot eight little white dude was like, what side are you on?
09:46What side are you on?
09:47And I'm like, Hey man, I like goals.
09:50I like goals.
09:52You see these American.
09:53I just want to see goals get scored.
09:55I want to talk about your time in New York.
09:58Cause I want to talk about fanatics, but I want to have enough time with Ira.
10:01So later on in the show, Whittingham will join us today and we'll talk some soccer with
10:06him.
10:06Although I told Whitty, I told everyone today, if news breaks, you're off the show.
10:13So I got a, I got a, I got a juggle things as they come live, but Whitty, you'll join
10:18us in the three o'clock hour.
10:19Talk a little soccer.
10:20I want to hear about, cause you were sending us videos over the weekend.
10:24You were at WWE.
10:25WWE, you got to experience Dan Housen and he's a New York legend.
10:31He's beloved in New York.
10:34Yeah.
10:34Yeah.
10:34It was a, it was a New York Knicks championship celebration is what it was.
10:39That's what it was.
10:41Right.
10:41Cat was out there.
10:42Dan Housen picked the Knicks and uncursed them.
10:45The only reason they won is because he uncursed them.
10:48Yeah.
10:48He's built like Solana.
10:50I don't think he should be on the stage like that.
10:52That's the most amazing thing about him.
10:54He is the most ordinary person on the planet.
10:58I was front row.
11:00He walked right past me.
11:01I was like, this is what you work at Walgreens.
11:04Look at him.
11:04So we're writing a housing housing to everything.
11:08No, not really.
11:10I was at a guy playing Ryan.
11:12You weren't doing pivot housing.
11:13No, but there must've been a thousand people with their faces painted like him.
11:17They love him.
11:18He's a hero.
11:18He's a hero there.
11:20What does he say?
11:20Jimmy?
11:21Very good.
11:21Very evil or something like that.
11:23Very evil.
11:24Very nice.
11:24Very evil.
11:25Very nice.
11:26Yeah.
11:27Yeah.
11:28So are you a Dan Housen fan now?
11:31No, not at all.
11:33Not at all.
11:34You're not a fan housing.
11:35I'm not a fan housing.
11:37Wow.
11:38That's shocking to me.
11:39This CM Punk.
11:40I like him.
11:41He's old and Riley.
11:43I like old CM Punk.
11:44Crotchety.
11:44Yeah.
11:45He's just mad.
11:46He's always angry.
11:47And then they had little housings running around.
11:49I saw in your videos.
11:51Yeah, man.
11:51Some, some, some little people came out from under the stage.
11:55It was weird.
11:56What are the little housings, Jimmy?
11:57Is that, is that something that happens normally?
12:00Or he cloned them.
12:01Oh, he cloned.
12:02See, I didn't know this.
12:03I don't know if you watched the little housings got their ass whooped.
12:10Well, I imagine if you're a wrestler and they give you the, the, the script and you're
12:15like, yeah, but I'm not losing to a little house.
12:17I got to draw the line somewhere.
12:20And that little boy got slammed into that wall.
12:22I said, Oh, that was real.
12:24He was dizzy.
12:25I said, Hmm.
12:26Yeah.
12:27I got to hear about fanatics fest.
12:28Like I was watching some clips from your Tiffany Haddish interview.
12:31We'll get to it.
12:32I want to make sure we have enough time.
