00:00Which player would you refuse to trade even if the market loves him, right?
00:05So which player is not necessarily, I'm not saying this player is untouchable,
00:09but you would personally just, you want him around the team because you're like,
00:12hey, I like the fit, maybe the future projection, maybe the age, etc.,
00:15whatever it may be.
00:16Who's that player for you?
00:18I have one.
00:19I'm curious to hear who yours would be.
00:20Francisco Alvarez.
00:22Oh, so we have the same pick.
00:23Has to be Alvarez.
00:23He's 24.
00:24Yeah.
00:24He's hitting nukes.
00:25He's not playing terrible.
00:27The defense I'm still not happy with, but there's too much there.
00:31I feel like even if the Mets maximize the return for him now,
00:34a return for him a year or two, two years from now could be two times
00:39if he just continues to click and put it all together.
00:41The uncertainty, that outweighs, I think, the risk with someone like Alvarez
00:48where if things go absolutely terrible for him.
00:50I think there's a lot of still optimism with him and his future given his age.
00:54Like, the amount of catchers that are at his age doing what he's doing
00:57is slimming up.
00:58You know, he's literally been top five to top ten in baseball
01:00in every offensive metric as a catcher since arriving in the league
01:03for the most part.
01:04Yes, I agree.
01:05Defense needs work.
01:07But it's one of those things where as time continues to go on,
01:09if he can stay healthy, God willing, he'll get there.
01:12We've seen it.
01:12He was 21, 22, looking like one of the better defensive catchers in baseball.
01:16I know it's in there somewhere, Alvarez.
01:18He just needs to continue to find it.
01:20When you look at his age and what he's even going to be able to accomplish,
01:26like you said, you know, being top five to ten in a lot of offensive categories
01:30as a catcher in baseball, I'm willing to still bet that he's not –
01:34I don't think he's peaked.
01:35I don't think he's peaked.
01:36I still think he has a ways to go.
01:38I think the thing with him is can he stay healthy
01:41and can he improve defensively?
01:42We've seen him be a good defensive catcher, be better than what he is right now,
01:46and I think he can get back to that.
01:48I'm with you too, I'm willing to take that bet more than some other guys.
