00:00Imagine you're taking a flight from Rome to Seattle and suddenly the captain announces
00:05emergency situation has been declared and we are returning. Well, this is actually what occurred in
00:11the case of an Alaska Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner. As was reported, the flight AS-181 took
00:19off from Rome as planned, but while flying across Europe, the pilots declared an emergency and
00:25returned to Rome. At the moment, Alaska Airlines do not provide details regarding the cause of the
00:32emergency situation. Prior to landing, the airplane went into a holding pattern over the Mediterranean
00:38in order to shed some weight by burning or dumping fuel. This is a common practice applied during the
00:45landing of long-haul flights. Fortunately, everything ended well. The Dreamliner safely landed in Rome,
00:51Fiumicino. Airport, the emergency services were waiting, just in case, and there were no reported
00:57injuries to passengers or crew members. At the moment, engineers are examining the aircraft,
01:04trying to find out the root cause of the problem. In aviation business, safety always goes first.
