Boeing Jet Loses Wheel for Second Time This Year on United Airlines Flight to Denver

A United Airlines Boeing 757-200 jetliner taking off from Los Angeles International Airport lost one of its wheels during takeoff on Monday. The plane landed safely in Denver. No injuries were reported. In March, a United Airlines Boeing 777 also lost a tire shortly after takeoff from San Francisco, requiring an emergency landing. In January, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 lost its nose wheel while preparing for takeoff in Atlanta. Boeing has faced increased scrutiny over safety issues with its 737 Max planes in recent years, including a fuselage door blowing out in January.
