00:00Hello from the Bureau, here's the National Weather Forecast for Tuesday the 21st of July.
00:05Recent days have been all about the mild sunny weather but the cold overnight temperatures thanks to high pressure
00:11and not much changes on Tuesday. There's a couple of high pressure areas on our map, one here, one over
00:17here
00:17and another one off the southwest coast of the country, all ensuring mostly fine winter weather will persist across the
00:23nation.
00:24Rainfall really at a minimum tomorrow, a little bit around the fringes, some down here in Tasmania,
00:28a little bit around coastal parts of the WASA coast and a little bit for coastal parts of Queensland
00:34thanks to southeasterly winds blowing up from this direction here.
00:38That's really been the hallmark of this winter so far, lots of southeasterlies and lots of coastal showers.
00:45That'll bring a little bit of rainfall to this coast here, a little bit of rainfall to Mackay and the
00:48central coast as well,
00:50just low rainfall amounts, 1 to 4mm around those parts, slightly heavier falls possible between Cairns and Cardwell
00:56on the north tropics. Rain shouldn't push inland so it will be a dry, sunny winter's day over the interior.
01:03A cool night tonight, so a cold morning tomorrow in New South Wales. That'll give us some areas of fog
01:09and frost in equal measure.
01:11But that should unfurl to a lovely crisp winter's day. We're actually seeing some reasonable temperatures around the state as
01:18well.
01:18Highs of 20 degrees across the coast, that's a sunny 20 in Sydney and after a cold morning it's a
01:24bright 15 degree afternoon in Canberra.
01:27We will also have some cloud, fog and frost through Victoria tomorrow morning. We could actually get really foggy conditions
01:33around western parts of the state.
01:35Maybe one of those days where the cloud and fog doesn't clear up all day, so quite gloomy for the
01:40southwest and the northwest.
01:42But for central and eastern parts of Victoria, after a cool morning tomorrow, it should clear up to a bright
01:48and sunny day,
01:49including around Melbourne where we're tracking for 16 degrees.
01:53We're likely to see fairly frequent showers across western and elevated parts of Tasmania tomorrow.
01:58Showers will also impact the northern coast from Launceston across to Burnie.
02:02Not as frequently, but you could get one or two, particularly from the afternoon onwards.
02:07Across eastern areas, maybe an early shower, then most of the day should be dry.
02:10Although we will see a more significant band of rain sweep over the entirety of Tasmania overnight.
02:17We've got some cold morning, we've got some frost, we've got some fog around South Australia tomorrow as well.
02:21That will clear up and we expect to see sunny conditions, mild conditions and in fact quite warm conditions.
02:27Temperatures between 2 and 4 degrees above the seasonal averages for the state tomorrow.
02:32Now it will be dry everywhere almost all day, but in the evening we'll see a little bit of rainfall.
02:37Move on to southern parts of the Eyre Peninsula, maybe Port Lincoln, Kangaroo Island and down to the southeast coast.
02:43Perhaps Mount Gambier gets a shower in the last hour or two before midnight.
02:48Across to the west here we've got a very weak cold front moving across parts of the southwest coast.
02:53And all we're likely to squeeze out of that is one or two quick showers and perhaps some cool winds
02:58from Perth around to Esperance along the coastline.
03:02That won't push inland so inland areas get a cool frosty morning then a clear fine day.
03:08And through western and northern parts of WA it will also be bright and sunny for Tuesday.
03:14Southeasterly winds across northern Australia once again on Tuesday.
03:17That means the humidity is at the low end of the spectrum and temperatures 1 or 2 degrees below seasonal
03:22averages.
03:23So lots of upper 20s around the north of the country.
03:26Bright sunny skies expected pretty much all day.
03:30And then some crisp overnight temperatures through the interior.
03:34And that's pretty much it. A fairly simple story this time around.
03:37But if you want to check in for more we'll be back tomorrow with another update.
03:40Thanks for watching.
