00:00Welcome back to Monday Munchies and this week I think I've found Sydney's biggest acai bowl.
00:05So what's the mission for today? We are off to find Sydney's best acai. I've tried all the places.
00:11Yes, I've tried acai underworld. Yes, I've tried Johnny's Incogra. I love Johnny's acai,
00:16but I haven't tried Hungry Bear acai, which is on Cleveland Street, sort of in the back of Surrey
00:22Hills. And they have, from what I can see on social media, some of the biggest acai bowls
00:27in Sydney, at least the biggest I've ever seen. So we're going to try them out. And I also want
00:31to try out Dubai Chocolate. I've never had Dubai Chocolate before, but it looks pretty darn good.
00:37Today we're sitting in, it'd be remiss of me to not mention the car, Maserati Gran Turismo Moderna,
00:43an absolutely beautiful thing. We're just heading to Surrey Hills now, so I'll catch you guys at
00:48Hungry Bear.
00:56I'm ready to absolutely smash this acai.
01:05I love a little hole in the wall. I'm definitely getting a large.
01:19There's a technique to it.
01:22Don't do what I just did, but it's my first time.
01:26You don't, you don't walk out of here empty-handed, I'll say that.
01:30I said, Brad, I need a peanut butter. I need a peanut butter in my life. So we've got a
01:33freshie.
01:34And we're going to eat it the right way this time, because I stuffed it up last time.
01:37And he's even hooked us up with a matcha. The nicest bloke, honestly.
01:42Oh no, the towel's going. Hold up. We've got to go quick.
01:46I am a peanut butter acai fiend. And I think Hungry Bear has made Sydney's best and most aesthetic
01:54and biggest acai bowl. And now I know how to eat it, so let's go.
02:00Mmm. Good slope.
02:02He's got the good peanut butter. I'll say that. I've had some acai bowls with real sus peanut butter,
02:06but he's got the good stuff. You can risk it and go in from the side,
02:09but it's not the right way to do it, or so I've learned. You've got to go down from the
02:12top.
02:16He's nailed the texture. He's nailed the flavour.
02:19Whatever he's blending in that big machine, it's good.
02:23Mmm.
02:25We've also got matcha.
02:26I do kind of love how matcha has transitioned from being a health food breakfast
02:34to now a dessert, but I'm kind of here for it.
02:37So let's give it a try. Same technique.
02:40Mmm.
02:41Matcha is not easy to nail because there's so much that goes into it.
02:46Matcha, if you've ever tried making at home, it can be really earthy and really grassy,
02:50but the best matcha is nice and sweet.
02:52This is a good neutral amount of sweetness. It's not too sweet, but when you add
02:56the pistachio topping like we have, it makes it a little sweeter.
03:01I know matcha soft serves are so popular, but it's also really expensive,
03:04and this is pretty fairly priced at $16 for the largest sauce.
03:09Let's do a nice bite here with our granola.
03:14Mmm.
03:15I'll just nail it.
03:17Even that on its own in a cone would be fire.
03:20I think it does cones, yeah.
03:21Quick shout out to this.
03:23You see a lot of the side places sitting right now are doing Dubai chocolate,
03:27and so is Hungry Bear.
03:28So Brad, let us walk away with one of these,
03:31and we're going to give it a taste test back in the office.
03:34Mmm.
03:49All right, so I've just got back to the office, and I want to see what the peeps here think
03:53of this viral Dubai chocolate.
03:55I've got to do a team taste test.
03:58That's a breakage early on.
04:01So the filling of Dubai chocolate is this phyllo pastry, these little pastry strands, which are then lathered in chocolate,
04:07and it kind of reminds me of those rice crackle treats that you used to have when you were a
04:11kid.
04:12I remember when I was like five years old, that was the thing to have at birthday parties with the
04:15rice bubbles and the chocolate melted over the top,
04:17and this is exactly what Dubai chocolate reminds me of.
04:23That's such fun.
04:24Little, not too much pistachio.
04:26I actually don't know if this one has much pistachio in it.
04:29I think you can find them loaded up with pistachio and other flavors,
04:32but I think this one's pretty much just a little phyllo pastry strands,
04:36which is a bit of a staple of Dubai chocolate, but it's good.
04:40So I should say that Dubai chocolate is expensive stuff.
04:45As it sits here, $25 for this block, but I've seen it $30, $35, $40, depending on the filling.
04:52Let us know if this is expensive or is it worth it for me.
04:57It's not a $25 block of chocolate, but it's a cool experience.
04:59You might as well try it.
05:00I want to get everyone else's reaction, so let's show them now.
05:03Alex, you've just been to the gym.
05:05Oh my God, what is this?
05:06It's like, there's like hate to it.
05:09Hey, this is a fair reaction.
05:13A bit of a texture play, you might say.
05:15Delicious.
05:16It kind of has a texture of like a rice bubbly chocolate thing.
05:19That's the unbelievable smell I was thinking of.
05:22Very good, it's very good.
05:28That's yummy.
05:32I can hear it.
05:37It's got a good bit of crunch.
05:39I'm a fan.
05:41Whatever's left, I'll take home.
05:42I like the little gold flakes.
05:44I think it's very cute.
05:45It feels very luxurious.
05:54I think it's very nice.
05:57It's like, yeah, it is like a crunch.
05:59If people are thinking about other ones we should try out there or have suggestions for us,
06:03let us know in the comments because I reckon it's loaded up with pistachio.
06:06Even like Nutella.
06:08Could be quite good.
06:10What makes it Dubai?
06:11Is it just the gold flakes?
06:12So today we eat up hungry bare acai.
06:13It has to be one of the biggest and best acai bowls in Sydney, at least that I've found.
06:18If you think there's a better one, we'll go out there and try it.
06:20So let us know.
06:21And we've even got some Dubai chocolate because we've seen this popping up at all the acai
06:24joints in Sydney and we had to try it for ourselves.
06:27Honestly, pretty good.
06:28I reckon with a layer of pistachio, it would elevate it even further.
06:32But right now it's a 6 or a 7 out of 10 for me.
06:35If there are other Dubai chocolates out there that we should try, let us know as well
06:37because I'm pretty keen to do a full, complete taste test and trial of this chocolate.
06:43But right now I'm still a Cadbury fan.
06:46You're not going to get me away from those marvellous creations.
06:47But this has been another Monday Munchies.
06:50Make sure you come back next week to see where we go next.
