00:00It's like the most aesthetic ass burger I've ever seen.
00:02Like it hits all the points and it's just good.
00:05It's nice to return to an OG.
00:08So welcome back to Monday Munchies.
00:10This week we're in Maryville to try what is potentially city's best smash burger.
00:14It's from the goat himself, Chebo.
00:15I've heard this is the best so let's give it a try.
00:29Look at the branding.
00:30He's leveled up man like this guy's the goat for a reason.
00:38We didn't even tell Chebo that we're coming.
00:40We bought the burger.
00:41Honest review.
00:43100%.
00:44It's independent review.
00:45So the thing that I like the most about the Chebo style, which is what this burger is,
00:48is it's just the nuts and bolts of a great smash burger.
00:52It has CB special sauce.
00:54So it's his sauce with caramelized onions.
00:56You get your lettuce, you get your smash patty, you get your pickles.
00:58And it's just keeping things simple but adding a little twist.
01:01So let's take a bite.
01:02It's got such a nice bun to it and it's crispy all the way around.
01:09First bite.
01:19I like the sauce.
01:20It's a particularly saucy smash burger, but it's his sauce.
01:23It's a mayo base or aioli base.
01:25With a bit of mustard, I'd say, and maybe a little bit of pickle.
01:28But yeah, it's just a really nice quality sauce.
01:31It's thick, like it has a good consistency.
01:33And I think with that American cheese, it just combines it to like a nice creaminess.
01:37It creates a good texture, I think.
01:38I think some people learn too much sauce, but nah, don't listen to that.
01:42It has the right amount.
01:43It's not like they put up a bottle of mayonnaise on the bloody thing.
01:46Second bite.
01:56The patty is like, it still has a substance to it.
02:00So it's smashed and it has a bit of lattice, but it's not that overly smashed, overly greasy.
02:05It has substance to it and the meat is juicy.
02:08It's seasoned right.
02:09It's not too spicy.
02:11It's not too here or there.
02:11It's kind of just like right in the middle.
02:13It's quintessential.
02:13That's what I say.
02:14It is the quintessential smash burger with a nice little house touch with the sauce
02:18and the caramelized onions.
02:19Quality.
02:20I think it makes sense that this is the OG smash burger in Sydney.
02:23It's the first one I ever saw.
02:25I remember Chevo was popping up all over social media during lockdown,
02:28but there's a reason why it's the OG.
02:30It's just, it hits all the points.
02:32That's the sauce.
02:32It has the nice patty.
02:33Caramelized onions really add something to it, but it has that creaminess from the cheese
02:36and the sauce and it's just, it's a really solid smash burger.
02:39I think it still holds up amongst all the weird things that we've seen pop up in the last two
02:43years.
02:44It's nice to return to an OG.
02:45So this is Chevo's Burgers in Marrickville, the OG smash burger in Sydney.
02:50It still holds up.
02:51Let me know if you've been here and what you think of the Chevo style smash burger,
02:54but this has been another Monday Munchies.
02:56Where should we go next?
