We stepped inside the@rmwilliams workshop in Adelaide to see how one of Australia’s most iconic boots is made. From selecting premium hides to cutting, stitching and finishing, every step of the process is done under one roof - a rare thing in modern manufacturing.

What we found was a story of craftsmanship, community and quiet pride.

00:00Just outside of Adelaide, in a quiet industrial pocket, is a workshop that's been doing things
00:04the authentic way for decades.
00:05Come with us as we take a look inside.
00:13The boots made here aren't just something to be worn, they mean more than that, to the
00:17wearer and to the people who make them.
00:20I've got that pride, I've got that craftsmanship, so much effort goes into it.
00:25That kind of pride doesn't happen overnight, it's built year by year, and passed on even
00:30through families.
00:32You've been here for how long?
00:33It'll be 18, 19 years.
00:3518, 19 years, incredible.
00:36My son works here, when he first applied for his job, no one knew he was my son, so I
00:42thought
00:42that was pretty cool, because when he got the job, he did it on his own merit, I was so
00:46proud
00:47of him.
00:47Nice.
00:48Sorry.
00:48No, he was.
00:49That was great.
00:50That's lovely.
00:54There's not too many footwear factories left in Australia.
00:58The company's such an iconic brand, it really means a lot to me.
01:01I try to reinforce that, and my team's being proud to make Iron Williams boots.
01:05It's the boot that represents so many different things, from the farmland right through to
01:10the city man who wants to dress that next level up.
01:13In time it's become more than a boot, it's a symbol of Australian identity, worn by icons
01:18across the world.
01:19Our most favourite was Casey Stoner.
01:21He was coming through, and I was like, oh my gosh, and everyone's like, are you okay?
01:25I said, I have to go and say hello.
01:27So I went up and said hello to him.
01:28I said, my husband is going to die.
01:31Kevin Bacon.
01:32Okay, you'll be Kevin Bacon first.
01:33Not really.
01:34I just saw it and thought, he looks really good in those.
01:36Yep.
01:38It might be easy to feel enamoured with the stars who wear them, but after spending a day
01:42in the workshop, it's clear that the people who make these boots are the reason they've
01:45stood the test of time.
