16:01Venezuela will always be thankful for the work of these men and these dogs on the search
16:08and rescue operations that were going on, especially in La Guayana State, but in the
16:13seven states that were affected by the double earthquake that hit the country on June 24.
16:19We can see this ceremony that a lot of these people are organizations, over 6,000 men and
16:28women and canine units received the Hero of Venezuela title.
16:36We have seen just the ceremony.
16:44Now for Almirante Juan Carlos, Vice Minister of the Risk Management and the Management
16:53of Risks.
16:56Good night, Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Jorge Rodriguez, my General-in-Chief, Minister of the Defense,
17:08all the military and police chiefs of the state of La Guayana, the mayor of the state of La
17:15Guayana, but mostly all of you heroes of the homeland.
17:24I'm talking to you not like the National Director of Civil Protection, but as a Venezuelan person,
17:31just like you, who's recognizing the effort, the love and the passion and the compromise
17:37that we've had with everybody that has needed.
17:44After this double seismic event on June 24, you, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces,
17:53volunteers, police members, civil protection, firefighters, you, we are of this size, of this
18:06event that we had to endure.
18:10We have shown once again, you women and men and our dogs who are also members, active members
18:20of this, that we have shown the Venezuelan people and the world of what you are made of,
18:25what the Venezuelan people are made of.
18:28Be proud of this work that we've been carrying out since June 24, for the search and rescue
18:40of our fellow Venezuelans.
18:48They're here to be able to retrieve the bodies for their family members that they needed so
18:55much to close a cycle.
18:59It is not easy for any of them, but we are here to be able to give them our hug,
19:09our shoulder,
19:14and most important to be able to reveal that rebirth of Venezuela that we all want.
19:24that we need to keep going with the spirit.
19:28We need to show that we are next to the people and for the people because we are also the
19:34people.
19:36For you heroes without a cape, but with the biggest heart, we need to recognize now before
19:45the world that you are the best and for that I congratulate you.
19:56Now as one member, as one Venezuelan person who will never be tired of repeating that the
20:04Venezuelan people has the best in the world, which is women, children, men.
20:10Again, we have to keep going next to the people of Venezuela, our government, our homeland,
20:18and the rebirth of La Guaira, but also the rebirth of all of Venezuela.
20:24Thank you very much.
20:24Thank you very much.
20:30Those are the words now for acting president, Delci Rodriguez Gomez.
20:40Good evening.
20:42This has been for me in the past few days when we had to recognize the effort of the international
20:53brigades that have come to our country and to give them medals.
20:58This one actually has been the moment that I was hoping for the most.
21:04To personally thank you, all of you.
21:07The 21 institutions and security organisms, our civil protection, our armed forces.
21:19I am also thanking the Venezuelan Red Cross because I know they are all volunteers and they were
21:28there without rest looking for lives.
21:32And if something I wanted is to put that recognition, that condecoration, hero of Venezuela in the standards
21:42of the institutions, of the public institutions, we have shown the strength, the incredible strength,
21:51like Almir and Otis were saying, we are as big as the difficulties and just like the double
21:58seismic event, each time we study and we study more about this natural phenomena, we know that
22:06this impact was devastating, but I have no doubt in my heart that the nation and that your work
22:16saved the lives.
22:18And that's what we know, hundreds, thousands of lives you saved.
22:24The members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, civil protection, firefighters.
22:33All of the organizations under one single command, which is what we had just hours after the
22:44double seismic event.
22:48There was the Mayor General Sulbaran, the President of Parliament and me in front of it to conduct
22:58all the actions that gave us the opportunity in the first few hours to rescue people alive,
23:06as you know, that we never stopped and we kept going and we kept going.
23:12I know it because of the work of all of you.
23:16I know there are places where some international brigades were saying they couldn't but you stay.
23:26You persevere for the life of one Venezuelan person.
23:32You were there with the spirit, with the courage of that Venezuelan person to never give up.
23:42Today, I'm telling you honestly that your uniforms have more honor, that your uniforms have a lot more dignity.
23:56Because the work that we have all done together with 30,000 members to face this seismic event, you were
24:07up to the task.
24:09And I know that with a lot of professionalism and strength, even the canine units and Burgos, we say hi
24:22to Luna, who marked 80 people.
24:24So, this is the joy of who finds the life to be able to save that life.
24:34I went to the hospitals to see the injured. I know that is a painful process, painful for those who
24:44lost their lives and their families.
24:47And I know all of you also lost family members, workmates.
24:54But you removed the dust from your uniforms and kept going, finding lies.
25:01If that's not detachment, how can we call it? If that's not a love to the country, how can we
25:09define it?
25:10The person that, in pain, is trying to save somebody else.
25:18I know the stories. I know the stories. In the armed forces, in the police, in El Sevil, that happened.
25:28And the police of the state of La Guayra and the municipal police, they lost their entire families, governor, mayor.
25:39And then they were the members with their uniform to keep going with the search and rescue operations.
25:53I'm asking for that spirit, for that historic spirit of perseverance.
26:01We transform it in the helping hands for the recovery and reconstruction.
26:10We are going to recover the state of La Guayra. We are going to reconstruct the state of La Guayra.
26:16The areas of Caracas are affected in Miranda, in Aragua, in Yaraguí, in Falcón, in Carabobo.
26:23We are all going. With those uniforms, we keep going on the labor of protecting the people.
26:38That's what you swore when you took over your compromises, your tasks.
26:46And that's how you are going to raise your banners, decorated as heroes of Venezuela.
26:54And you that are carrying on your chest the commemoration of heroes of Venezuela.
27:02Let's go, Venezuela. Let's keep going.
27:05And we are pulling through. And I'm calling for the reconstruction, the reconstruction infrastructure.
27:13I'm calling for the reconstruction of humans.
27:17And the best expression of that Venezuela, of this new Venezuela, is the labor that you are taking of 48,
27:2972 hours without sleeping.
27:31And you kept going that work ethic, that compromise, that love, that want to help, that new ethic of your
27:40uniforms.
27:42I'm saying that we can build a new ethic for Venezuelan society.
27:49Ethic of love, of comprehension, that is an ethic of cooperation, so those who need it.
28:06I'm hugging you. I'm congratulating you for those who couldn't be here because they're still deployed in the disaster area.
28:16I want them, I want my hope to reach them for what you have done and what you keep doing
28:23for Venezuela.
28:24Nothing is going to stop us. Beyond the grief that we, the hope can come to above the pain, the
28:38injuries, the physical and emotional injuries that we can rebuild with a love and happiness.
28:46A hug for all of you, functionaries of Venezuela.
29:05We're listening to the acting president of Venezuela, Delci Rodriguez, who was addressing the nation in the middle of the
29:13ceremony of commemoration of the heroes of Venezuela.
29:18This commemoration has been given to over 6,000 members of 21 Venezuelan institutions, 6,000 men, women and dogs,
29:28because the canine units were also commemorated with the Medal of Heroes of Venezuela.
29:54We're listening to the
30:03We're looking at the images of the ceremony, a commemoration ceremony of the Hero of Venezuela,
30:09the awards that have just finished and it was presided over by Acting President Delce
30:14Roríguez and other authorities of the Venezuelan government, like the President of the National
30:19Assembly Jorge Roríguez, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace Diosdado Cabello.
30:27We're seeing the images of Acting President Delce Roríguez saluting and giving thanks
30:33to 21 Venezuelan institutions that were working in search and rescue operations, especially
30:42those in La Guayra state, following the devastating earthquakes of June 24 in Venezuela.
30:49That last recall struck seven different states in Venezuela, but mostly affected La Guayra
30:54state, where 160 buildings collapsed and hundreds more were damaged.
31:01This we are seeing here is the men, women and dogs that were helping in the search and rescue
31:08operations and the recovery operations, not only in the first few days to find as many
31:14people alive as possible, but right now they still keep working in La Guayra state to recover
31:21as many bodies as possible to bring all those grieving families, to help all those grieving
31:27families to find close to this cycle of pain.
31:32We can see the award ceremonies that just ended right now in Venezuela, where, let's recall,
31:40over 6,000 rescue workers and canine units that were working in La Guayra were decorated with
31:47the Hero of Venezuela Medal for their search and rescue operations.
31:52These are members of 21 different Venezuelan institutions, including the Venezuelan Red Cross
31:58and the firefighter corpses.
32:11We are just looking at the images of the ceremony presided over by Acton President Delcy Rodriguez.
32:17This was the award ceremony for the Hero of Venezuela Medal that was given to over 6,000 members
32:24of the rescue crews and the canine units that were helping in the search and rescue operations
32:30in the seven affected states of the country after the twin requests struck the country on
32:35June 24, especially those that were working in La Guayra state, where the search operations
32:41are still ongoing today to find the remains of all the people that are still trapped beneath
32:46the rubble.
32:47What have you noticed about?
