A Giant Salamander is one of the largest amphibians in the world, with some species growing over 1.5 meters (5 feet) in length. These ancient creatures are found in cool, fast-flowing rivers and streams in parts of Asia and North America.

Giant salamanders have broad heads, wrinkled skin, and powerful bodies that help them live in freshwater habitats. They are mostly active at night and feed on fish, crustaceans, insects, frogs, and other small aquatic animals.

Often called “living fossils,” giant salamanders have existed for millions of years and have changed very little over time. Their unique appearance and ancient lineage make them among the most fascinating amphibians on Earth. 🦎💧🌿
