The people of Thamud demanded a sign from Allah. He gave them a miraculous she-camel through Prophet Salih (peace be upon him). They were warned not to harm her, yet they rejected the sign and killed the camel. The Qur'an tells us that divine punishment followed, leaving their story as a lesson for future generations.
