She was only a servant in Pharaoh’s palace…
But when she was tested, she chose Allah over the entire world.
During the Night Journey (Al-Isra’ wal-Mi‘raj), Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was shown a sign of this woman’s incredible faith. Jibril (عليه السلام) told him about the beautiful fragrance of the believing woman who served Pharaoh’s daughter and her children.
When Pharaoh discovered that she believed in Allah, he tried to force her to abandon her faith. But she remained firm until the end.
And when she hesitated for the sake of her infant child, Allah gave her son the ability to speak — strengthening his mother’s heart and reminding her that the punishment of this world is lighter than the punishment of the Hereafter.
Her story is a timeless reminder:
True faith is not measured by status, wealth, or power… but by remaining loyal to Allah when everything is taken away.
