00:00U.S. military personnel aged 30 and older will undergo testing for testosterone deficiency
00:06as part of annual health screenings. Secretary of War Pete Hexat says he is authorizing the
00:13program to ensure troops operate at their best. The screening would be effective immediately for
00:20all active duty and reserve component personnel. Those with low testosterone levels will be
00:27offered voluntary hormone replacement therapy. The test would also be optional for those younger
00:32than 30. However, Hexat did not specify if the screening would apply to women whose testosterone
00:38levels also declined with age. The latest policy aligns closely with that of Secretary of Health
00:43Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has heavily championed the use of testosterone as part of his broader
00:50Make America Healthy Again agenda. Last month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration requested the
00:55removal of safety and effectiveness language on product labels for testosterone replacement
01:01therapy. It also proposed loosening prescribing limits for testosterone products.
