00:00And in Venezuela, earthquake survivors receive comprehensive care at temporary camps.
00:05Our correspondent Belรฉn de los Santos has more details from Caracas.
00:11Hello studios, how are you? I'm coming to you from the Francisco Pimentel Transitory Camp in downtown Caracas.
00:18And today it is a very important day, special day, because it is a day of integral health care attention
00:26for everyone who is staying here.
00:28We have been going over the different forms of medical attention that the people, the community that are staying in
00:37this and other transitory camps are receiving.
00:40It has been one of the top priorities of all the deployment regarding the care for those who were affected
00:49after the June earthquakes of June 24th.
00:51This did not happen out of nowhere.
00:54This comes from the work that Venezuela has been doing over decades regarding, for example, the mission Barrio Adentro that
01:03was designed with Cuba in particular to provide,
01:06to be able to guarantee the medical assistance in every territory, designing clinics, for example, that are very close to
01:15each space so that everyone can access health care.
01:18In that sense, that mission, the Barrio Adentro mission continues.
01:24And as we were saying, the transitory camps from the very first moment have the medical assistance integrated to the
01:33logistics of the camp,
01:35doing an overview of the medical condition of everyone who is here with the assistance of community doctors.
01:43But in this case, the day of today, they are receiving specialists from different areas in order to provide the
01:51assistance of specialized care for every pathology that is needed,
01:56from pediatricians to general physicians to those affecting different specialties that are being treated right now.
02:06And for that, they have the support of both Venezuelan and Cuban doctors, part of the Cuban medical brigade deployed
02:15for years here in Venezuela who continue their work.
02:19And in this case, their very special work have to do with the care for those most affected by the
02:27twin earthquakes of June 24th.
02:29This continues, what we are seeing here, we are seeing it also in other transitory camps.
02:35It is the plan for the integral attention of those who are here.
02:41The fact that these camps are not just a place to sleep and eat, but they are also a place
02:47in which the effort,
02:49the community effort is that of providing the support in terms of the physical attention, but the emotional attention as
02:58well,
02:59that everyone needs to overcome what happened over close to three weeks ago now with the earthquakes of June 24th.
03:09This is what is happening here in Caracas, but we are seeing it everywhere deployed across the Venezuelan territory.
03:16And we have it here in Telosur English, as we have been minute by minute since this begun.
03:22And we are overseeing the process of recovery in this Venezuelan state.
03:27So I go back to you now.
