03:42You know, we really loved our time living in Thailand, but there were a lot of cultural

03:48And I mean, there still is here.
03:50Like there's a very strong Mayan culture here and Mexican culture, Spanish culture, but
03:57it is a lot more western.
03:58It's kind of more Americanized.
04:00Things like the grocery store are just a lot easier.
04:02And I think one of my favorite things about Mexico in general is they have really good
04:08taste.
04:08Like even the 7-Elevens that you drive past, they're made out of like cobblestone and they
04:13look really cool.
04:14They don't look like a really tacky convenience store.
04:17And I didn't realize that I'd missed that when we're in Southeast Asia.
04:21And it's also like not as densely populated.
04:24Mexico is a big country and Mexico City is obviously one of the most populated places
04:29in the world.
04:30But when you come to places like the Riviera Maya and stuff, like it's very vast and very
04:34open and very lush.
04:36And I really appreciate that about Mexico.
04:39And just in general, coming here was super, super easy.
04:43I mean, it was only a six hour flight and Lila was perfect on the flight.
04:47We didn't have any issues, like no visa issues.
04:50We didn't need a visa here.
04:51We didn't have any issues with like booking transport or finding a really good affordable
04:56Airbnb.
04:57Even the best thing was as soon as we got off the plane, without even me having to think
05:02about it, my phone was working.
05:04And that's because we're in Canada already.
05:07We had only planned to come to Mexico on a Monday.
05:10And by Friday, we're already on our way here, which is kind of how we do things.
05:14Sometimes we just make decisions and we do them really fast.
05:17I don't know if that's a positive personality trait or a negative one, but I hadn't even thought
05:22about how our phones were going to work because we had an Olifly North America eSIM already.

06:21can work, sometimes when you check into Airbnbs or hotels, the Wi-Fi isn't great.
06:26Luckily where we are, it's actually really good, but you can tether your Olifly eSIM to your
06:32computer or your tablet or whatever it is, somebody else's smartphone.
06:36But if you're trying to get work done, you can tether it to your phone, which is amazing.

07:14I've wanted to do this for so long.
07:16We're just going to head down at the moment and meet the person that's jumping off an ATV
07:22for us to use to explore around the city today, which is so exciting.
07:30We've been here a few days and I mentioned in our previous video that getting around Tulum
07:35is a little bit tricky because there's like a taxi mafia and they charge a lot of money.
07:40Um, and so the obvious options are like beach cruisers, scooters, but for us, the best option
07:49just to get to like the beaches and stuff is an ATV because it's a four wheel bike.
07:55Um, it's a lot safer and it's a lot more fun.
07:58Um, I think for us to get around.
08:00So we've got a bunch of places we're going to go today.
08:03Let's check out this ATV, see how it is.
08:05I grew up riding ATVs.
08:07I grew up in the country in Canada, so I'm super comfortable on them and I feel way safer
08:12on them.
08:13Um, even more so than a scooter, if you've been watching our channel for a long time,
08:16you'll know that we, um, I've pretty much ridden a scooter around the most of the world.

13:08It's pretty much the closest cenote to where we're staying.
13:11It's very close to downtown.
13:13Five minute drive on a very quiet road.
13:18It's 250 pesos per person for entry.
13:22And you get to stay as long as you want.
13:24But it is an extra 200 pesos if you want to bring a camera in.
13:27And there's no drones allowed.
13:29Which is unfortunate because it's probably epic drone shots to get here.
