00:00The Negeri Sembilan Public Works Department Director told Muhyiddin Yassin's corruption trial
00:05that the Prime Minister's office had no hand in authorising payments to KCJ Engineering Sunduan Berhad.
00:13Wan Hasnan, Wan Musa said KCJ Engineering was awarded a contract to build a new road
00:19linking Felda Bukit Jalur to Gemas on July 30, 2021.
00:24He said the company received a RM10 million advance payment in May 2022
00:30followed by interim payments totaling nearly RM14.4 million between March 2022 and February 2023.
00:38Cross-examined by defence lawyer Chetan Jetwani, Wan Hasnan confirmed that the PMO had not interfered
00:46in the issuance of interim certificates, payments or project valuation.
00:50He said the process was based solely on the project's progress and JKR's evaluation.
00:57The court also heard that advance payments were allowed under JKR contracts,
01:02subject to approval from the Finance Ministry and the availability of funds.
01:07Wan Hasnan said contractors could apply for advances not exceeding 25% of the contract value
01:14or RM10 million, whichever was lower.
01:17The court previously heard that KCJ Engineering channeled RM800,000 into Bersatu's account
01:24through four cheques worth RM200,000 each on October 12, 2022.
01:30Former Prime Minister Muhyiddin, 78, faces seven charges linked to the Jana Wibawa programme,
01:36including four counts of allegedly abusing his position to solicit RM225.3 million in bribes
01:44for Bersatu from three companies and Bukhari Equity Sindran Berhad.
01:49He also faces three money laundering charges involving RM200 million allegedly received
01:55from Bukhari Equity Sindran Berhad and deposited into Bersatu's accounts.
