00:00It was a, you know, it's a bit of a full circle event for me because of course I went
00:05to the
00:05Guildhall in 1980. So I came into the City of London, knew a lot about the city because,
00:13you know, a bit of a history buff. And so to be here was just absolutely fascinating.
00:20And to find myself then, many, many, many, many years later, being, getting the freedom of the
00:27city is, yeah, it's, it's, it's kind of closure on something. It's kind of a wonderful, wonderful
00:34thing. Well, I mean, the city is unique. I mean, a lot of people don't realize that it's a city
00:38within a city, isn't it really? I mean, it was where the old city started. And it's the historical
00:44nature of it that's so fascinating, you know, from the Middle Temple and all that kind of stuff that
00:50started way back during the Crusades to, to what we see today. And of course, you know,
00:57the economic centre and hub of the country as well. So I mean, all those things really make it unique
01:03and special. And it's great to be part of it. The freedom of the City of London is believed to
01:11date
01:12back to 1237 and is granted by the City of London Corporation to celebrate outstanding contributions
01:19to London life. Adrian Dunbar recently finished filming for Line of Duty's upcoming seventh series,
01:27which will follow the anti-corruption unit AC-12 after being disbanded and rebranded as the Inspectorate
01:35of Police Standards, as the team are assigned their most sensitive case so far. The actor was nominated
01:43for the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA Award in 2018 for his portrayal of the senior investigating
01:50police officer in Line of GC. Dunbar was nominated for the freedom of the City of London by the chair
01:58of
01:59Guildhall, Emily Benn, as well as the former Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Sir William Russell.
02:06He recently made his musical theatre debut and played in a 2024 production of Kiss Me Kate
02:12at the Barbican Theatre.
02:14Yeah, well, of course, yeah, you're right. I just did Kiss Me Kate in the Barbican Centre,
02:20which was a big hit. And, you know, I think probably was the thing that pushed everybody to kind of
02:27think this guy should have this, you know, we should recognise this guy in some way. It was brilliant to

02:32back in the Barbican and it was great to get finished Season 7. Season 7, I think, is going to
02:40be pretty
02:40good. Jed's written some fabulous scripts and lots of twists and turns. I don't think we let the fans
02:46down, but it was a bit of a slog. It was a tough shoot because of just, you know, the
02:52logistics of
02:53everything, but I think it's going to be great.
