Marcoleta off to jail from anti-graft court

Sen. Rodante Marcoleta waves while leaving the Sandiganbayan for the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory on July 15, 2026. He also hugged several people before he left. The court's third division committed the senator to the facility pending the plunder case he and three others are facing, after the Philippine General Hospital and Philippine National Police General Hospital (PNPGH) diagnosed that he could travel. The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group transported him to the facility from the court. The Office of the Ombudsman had filed the case in connection with a P75-million cash donation that Marcoleta allegedly received from his co-accused in Jan. 2025 during his time as representative of the party-list group Sagip.
