00:00So the ships in this are real, and from what I understand, you went to a rowing school to train.
00:05We did like a couple of days with the crew of this boat, the Drakon, that we were working on,
00:10and they taught us how to row the ship. And it is hard work, let me tell you.
00:15Did you ever do something like that before?
00:18I had never done anything like that before, so it was not going well for me.
00:22And actually that worked out well because Eurylochus doesn't actually do any rowing.
00:25He just gets all the other guys to do it.
00:28You and Matt, yeah, you guys were just standing there watching everybody.
00:31What was it like being on the waters, being immersed in that real boat?
00:35I imagine in this age where there's so much CGI, to have something that practical,
00:39it must really just enhance the experience.
00:41Yeah, and that was the case with the whole production.
00:43That's why it's so special what Chris does.
00:45He never cuts corners, he makes things for real, and you feel that on screen.
00:49And it's great for us as actors, but I think it's even more thrilling for the audience when they finally
00:53see it.
00:53I saw the movie last night. You have one of the best parts,
00:56because I love how you're just constantly checking Odysseus.
00:59You're the guy who's like, hey man, you've got to cut it out.
01:02What was it like to play that part?
01:03It was great. There was a real emotionality to it and a heartbreak to it.
01:08He's seeing his fellow soldiers die around him because of these wayward decisions that his king is making,
01:13but it breaks his heart to have to turn his back on his king.
01:16You know, that's the layers that Chris has added to this character, to so many of the other characters.
01:24You know, I think people are going to be going and expecting certain characters to be a certain way.
01:29And actually, he has added so much depth to every single character in this movie.
01:36He's done Batman, now he's done The Odyssey.
01:38What work do you think Chris Nolan should adapt next?
01:41Oh my gosh.
01:44I couldn't tell you.
01:46I mean, it's War and Peace.
01:49I don't know.
01:50It's been done on TV by my friend, Tom Harper.
01:55But maybe a grand cinematic IMAX version of maybe of some Tolstoy.
