Six people have died after a fire broke out at the Oxy Tower construction site in central Brussels, Belgium, prompting a major emergency response. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control but later discovered that the fire had spread to the building's lift shafts, where two elevators had become trapped. After hours of rescue efforts, authorities recovered six bodies from one blocked lift. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire and have not ruled out any possibilities.
The incident also left two people with serious burns, while a firefighter received treatment after being exposed to extreme heat during the operation. The Oxy Tower, located near Brussels' Grand Place, is currently under construction and is planned to include residential apartments, a hotel, restaurants and bars.
