A major fire tore through parts of a winery in California’s Livermore Valley on 27 May, sending huge flames and thick smoke into the sky. Fire crews from CAL FIRE and the Alameda County Fire Department rushed to the scene after two large barns and nearby vegetation became fully engulfed. Dry weather conditions helped the flames spread quickly, raising concerns about further damage in the wine region.
