Check out this hilarious wildlife encounter as a young girl's curiosity lands her in a battle with a determined swan.

Rachael Pawley, from Lexington, USA, filmed the moment her daughter decided to find out whether a swan would bite her toe if she stood too close. Instead of risking her foot, she cautiously used her shoe to test the bird's reaction.

The video shows the swan immediately grabbing hold of the shoe and refusing to let go before stealing it and carrying it into the water.

As the shoe slowly floated away, her sister stepped in to save the day by retrieving it from the edge.

The funny family moment left viewers laughing at the swan's bold theft and the sisters' priceless reactions.
