00:00I think the reason that we're seeing so much collective outrage right now from men toward
00:04women is because we are losing the privilege of denying the damage that we have helped
00:09create and participated in for generations.
00:12Us men have this selective collective blind spot, and it is the way in which we have collectively
00:19taken advantage of the physical, mental, and emotional labor of women within relationships
00:24and marriage for generations.
00:26We watched our dads and our grandpas and our uncles do it, right?
00:29And now it's our turn, but the whistle is being blown, and we're like, what the fuck?
00:34And rather than taking some accountability, we are playing the victim.
00:38And that is why the red pill movement has been so successful.
00:41It allows us to play the victim.
00:43It's much easier for us to point at all these individual little struggles that men encounter
00:49throughout their lives and say, well, what about this?
00:52Not recognizing that every single one of those is a trap that the patriarchy set for us.
00:57And the more privileged you are, the more fragile your ego, okay?
01:02And straight white men are at the top of that list, myself included.
01:06And the patriarchy is not something that's up for debate, right?
01:09It's like saying that weather doesn't exist.
01:11You can choose not to acknowledge it, but that just highlights your fragility.
01:15And once you see the patriarchy and how it works, it's impossible to unsee it, right?
01:20And you can't benefit in the same ways that our fathers and our grandfathers did without feeling some level of
01:26guilt.
01:26And I think that's why so many men choose to ignore it and say that the patriarchy doesn't exist.
01:32And I think that millennials have grown up being constantly impacted by damage that generations before us have done.
01:39And we're like, oh, and now we have to dismantle the patriarchy too?
01:43Awesome, right?
01:44And millennial men are like, fuck that.
01:46And I get that, but I don't think that men are seeing the value on the other side of the
01:51patriarchy once it's burnt down.
01:53Like the matriarchy is where we would all thrive.

If you could change one relationship expectation that society has passed down through generations, what would it be—and why? Let's have a respectful conversation in the comments.
