The defining characteristics of a van include its cargo space and payload capacity. Ford Pro offers the new Transit City in three different body styles, each designed to meet different needs. The shorter L1H1 panel van is particularly well-suited for tight inner-city spaces where parking is scarce. Despite its more compact dimensions, its approximately 6 m³ cargo space can accommodate three Euro pallets and carry a payload of up to 1,085 kg. The longer and taller L2H2 variant boasts a cargo area of ​​approximately 8 m³, with a load length exceeding 3 m and a maximum payload of 1,275 kg.

Both panel van versions are available with a universal equipment package to minimize complexity and, consequently, costs. This package includes features such as a durable cargo floor, half-height side paneling, and strategically placed tie-down points.


For the first time in this commercial vehicle segment, Ford Pro is offering the Transit City as a chassis cab with a single cab. This variant benefits, among other things, from the experience Ford Pro has already gained with the E-Transit chassis. With optimized longitudinal members, clearly defined mounting points, and standardized electrical interfaces, it is perfectly suited as a basis for conversions of all kinds and for all industries. More than 200 certified bodybuilders from the European Ford Pro Converters network are available to convert the new electric van into customized special-purpose vehicles, 10 of which are located in Austria alone.

Efficiency-optimized electric drive

One of the most important elements of an electric van is the drive battery. The new Transit City uses a 56 kWh battery with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology. It enables a finely balanced combination of low costs, light weight, and compact component size on the one hand, and range on the other. The Transit City can travel up to 254 kilometers on a single battery charge, more than double the average daily distance covered by 90 percent of all commercial vehicles in this segment. At a DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 33 minutes at up to 87 kW. An additional 65 kilometers of range can be added in just ten minutes at a fast charger. Using an 11 kW AC wallbox, it takes approximately four and a half hours to fully charge the battery from 10 to 100 percent.

With 110 kW (150 hp), the electric motor delivers ample power and torque to provide impressively agile performance, even when fully loaded. The one-pedal drive option enables particularly relaxed and efficient driving in busy city traffic: it allows the Transit City to decelerate to a complete stop using regenerative braking. The system's calibration benefited from experience gained by Ford Pro customers with other electric vans from the brand.
