Lots of upsets this past weekend, we were looking at some of the numbers yesterday and
00:07
this morning, you know, people sweating about Indiana game, you know, fan has got a minus
00:12
8000 to making the playoffs.
00:15
So they think they're going to be in, you're seeing Tennessee at minus 450.
00:20
You could sometimes Gabe, look at those lines for what the books think of who's going to
00:24
make it and kind of get a little bit of a playbook for what these guys are going to
00:27
put out tonight with the rankings.
00:29
I don't fully understand the criticism of Indiana as much as there is out there.
00:36
And listen, I don't think Indiana are a top, top tier football team, and I think they'll
00:40
lose in the college football playoffs.
00:43
But the hostility towards them, I think it's just a little bit over the top.
00:49
And the fact is, there's just not that many one loss teams out there.
00:52
Right?
00:53
I mean, you know, we can talk about, are the SEC teams better?
00:58
And I would say, yes, I think they've kind of cannibalized themselves a little bit.
01:02
But at the same point in time, you are what your record says you are.
01:05
So I don't have a problem with Indiana getting in.
01:08
I think a big winner over the weekend, actually, was Notre Dame.
01:12
Right?
01:13
Notre Dame have just systematically sort of, they've kept winning and people around them
01:17
are losing.
01:18
But I said it before, Carver, and I said it to you.
01:21
I said it to Pharrell when the first rankings came out.
01:24
Right?
01:25
Oh, look at this matchup.
01:26
But look at that matchup.
01:27
People can't even remember who was whatever looked like back then.
01:31
So sort of like a snow globe.
01:32
We reshake it every week.
01:34
So I'm sort of going to wait and see how it plays out still right now.
01:39
But it's going to be an intriguing playoff this year.
01:41
And you get the big 12 teams, right?
01:44
They're going to get in the back door.
01:45
They'll be one of the lower seeds as well.
01:47
But I'm curious to see what it's all said and done.
01:49
Who plays who?
01:50
A&M is all or nothing for them.
01:53
Right?
01:54
So Texas A&M win.
01:55
They're going to get in.
01:56
If they don't win, they're not going to get in.
01:58
But as you stated, everything is kind of working itself out right now.
02:01
It is.
02:02
And you mentioned shaking the snow globe.
02:05
I think there'll be even more of it between this weekend and the conference championship
02:10
games.
02:11
Especially if we can get an upset.
02:14
Right?
02:15
Like where's that upset coming from?
02:16
Is it Georgia Tech?
02:17
Georgia Tech lost by like seven or eight last year to them.
02:20
Right?
02:21
So Georgia Tech have shown, all right, we can hang around with Georgia.
02:24
This Georgia Tech football team is pretty good.
02:27
Right?
02:28
They're not going to be overly, I don't think they get smashed, like murdered by Georgia.
02:32
They can hang around.
02:34
Does Michigan have one in them?
02:36
Right?
02:37
Michigan actually played the best.
02:39
You know?
02:40
I think Michigan can hang around the point spread, but it's going to be hard to go in
02:43
there and actually beat them.
02:44
Right?
02:45
I mean, you're getting three touchdowns.
02:48
So I don't know where the massive upset, Notre Dame, USC, maybe, you know what I mean?
02:53
It's sort of like, some of these games, some of these teams that we saw last week, Mike,
02:57
you know, it's a big theme.
03:00
Teams saving their season, bro.
03:01
Right?
03:02
And I told people this all week about Oklahoma and Alabama.
03:05
And I said, you know, if Oklahoma wins this game, there's going to be a lot of pain will
03:10
be forgotten, man.
03:12
Right?
03:13
A lot of the season.
03:14
Look at what's going on in Gainesville right now, Carver.
03:17
They wanted to put Billy Napier on the next train out of town before.
03:20
Now it's like, hey, let's go.
03:21
What are we playing again?
03:22
Let's go.
03:23
Let's beat someone else.
03:24
Right?
03:25
It sort of started to roll.
03:26
So you never really know what these last late games, what someone's going to step up and
03:30
pull the carpet out from underneath.
03:32
But I kind of don't see it happening this weekend.
03:35
I think the one team I'd watch for this weekend is, and they need to win to play in that ACC
03:40
title game is Miami.
03:42
I know Syracuse has been okay in spots this year.
03:45
They're going on the road.
03:49
If Miami loses, Clemson is going to be in the game against SMU.
03:52
So they cannot afford to slip up in the dome against Syracuse this weekend.
03:57
And I was saying yesterday to Joe Gabe, Boise's played with fire the last few weeks and maybe
04:03
not this week with Oregon state.
04:05
But if they got to play UNLV again next week in the Mountain West title game, I know everybody's
04:11
got Boise penciled in.
04:13
They think they're going to get a buy, which I don't believe they will after whoever comes
04:16
out of the big 12 wins.
04:17
I still think that there'll be that fourth buy team, but I'd be careful with Boise these
04:21
next two weeks, Oregon state, and then possibly UNLV.
04:25
I don't, I don't disagree with you, but at the same point of time, if Boise get in, they're
04:28
going to be dangerous for other teams, right?
04:31
They're going to be, they're going to be a problem.
04:33
You know, when you want to talk about the playoff, this is where something you just
04:36
said, it's sort of, I find interesting.
04:39
What do they do?
04:40
If UNLV wins, are you, is UNLV getting in?
04:44
Like those are the questions.
04:45
Like we, I don't really know.
04:46
We can debate all Indiana state or rank six and eight from whatever, blah, blah, blah.
04:50
But like, think about that.
04:51
Like, are you an LV?
04:52
Are they going to, are you an LV in, right?
04:56
If they win this, that, that's sort of a question that I'm looking at here there.
05:00
So there's sort of still a couple of things to happen.
05:02
Like you said, bro, this, this ACC thing is pretty wild right now.
05:07
I still like, I kind of, I can't believe that SMU will be in the playoff somehow.
05:11
So something's going to happen before that.
