00:00What's going on, everybody?
00:01Welcome back to another video.
00:02Today, we're gonna be reviewing
00:03the Google AI Professional Certificate.
00:11I've had a lot of people reaching out to me
00:13asking if this is something that they should take.
00:15And up until now, I've just said,
00:17hey, I haven't taken it myself, you know,
00:18just go check it out, look at the reviews.
00:20But I had enough people asking about it
00:22where I just decided I'm gonna take the entire thing
00:24and make a full video on it.
00:26I completed the entire certificate myself,
00:27which is comprised of a lot of different courses
00:29put into one.
00:30And I will say, I think overall, it is really great.
00:34I've been using AI a ton over the past several years.
00:36And so, of course, I knew a lot of the things
00:38that were already in these courses,
00:39but I will say I even picked up some things
00:42that I did not know.
00:43So what we're gonna do is we're gonna jump onto my screen.
00:45I'm gonna show you the certificate
00:45and all the courses that are in it.
00:47I'm gonna walk through a lot of the highlights
00:49and some of the things that you should know
00:50before you actually start taking this certificate.
00:52So let's not waste any time.
00:53Let's jump right onto my screen and get started.
00:56All right, so this is the homepage
00:57for the Google AI Professional Certificate.
00:59As you can see, there are a ton of people
01:01who have taken this.
01:02I did not know so many people had taken it,
01:04but it has great reviews.
01:06Now, there are some things that I wanna highlight
01:08just on this page before we jump into it.
01:10One is that it's beginner level,
01:12and I completely agree with that.
01:14Anybody can take this if you don't have any experience
01:16with AI, but even if you do have some experience,
01:18there's still things that you can learn
01:19like I did when I took it.
01:21It says it takes about eight hours to complete,
01:23and I think if you're a complete beginner,
01:25I think that's pretty accurate.
01:26Now, let's come down here, and let's take a look
01:29at what is actually in this certificate.
01:31As I mentioned before, it's made above a ton
01:33of different courses.
01:34It starts with AI fundamentals,
01:36then goes to AI brainstorming and planning,
01:38AI for research and insights,
01:40AI for writing and communication,
01:42AI for content creation, AI for data analysis,
01:45and AI for app building.
01:46Now, I myself, I'm a data analyst by trade.
01:48That's the kind of content that I focus on,
01:50and so I was really interested to see what this one
01:53specifically was going to be like.
01:55I will say I liked it.
01:56I really enjoyed this AI for app building
01:58because I haven't really done that before too much.
02:01I don't build a lot of apps,
02:03and so that one to me was one that I learned quite a bit from.
02:06At the end of it, you're going to earn a career certificate,
02:08so of course, you're gonna get that at the very end
02:10once you complete all of the courses.
02:12If you start this course,
02:13you also get some extra benefits from Google,
02:16which are really nice.
02:17The first thing is that you're gonna get Google AI Pro
02:19at no cost for three months
02:21while you're taking this certificate,
02:23and even if you finish this certificate early,
02:25you'll still get access for those three months.
02:27That AI Pro tier gives you access
02:28to some great models that Google has,
02:30and you get five terabytes of storage
02:32included with that plan.
02:34That should give you plenty of storage
02:35for basically anything that you want to do.
02:38Now, I'm gonna take you through
02:38and kinda highlight some of the things
02:40that you are gonna see within this certificate
02:42and within these courses.
02:43Something that I really liked were the hands-on labs,
02:45and it'll look something like this.
02:47This is within the AI for data analysis.
02:49We have build with AI, clean a dataset.
02:52This is something that every data analyst
02:53that's ever existed has done,
02:55and now they want you to do it with AI.
02:57If we come over here and we launch this lab,
02:59it's gonna bring us to this page.
03:00This is the one that I always chose.
03:02I have a big monitor, so I just clicked on this one.
03:04Let's go ahead and choose learn side by side.
03:06In these labs, we have Google Gemini
03:08right over here on this left-hand side.
03:10We are basically using a virtual machine
03:11on this left-hand side with access
03:13to our actual Google account
03:15while we follow along on the right-hand side.
03:18And so it actually walks us through how to do this,
03:20and then you follow along.
03:22So they're very specific instructions
03:23on exactly what you need to do,
03:26and you just learn a lot by being more hands-on.
03:29The next thing I wanna point out is the instructors.
03:31Now, all of these instructors work for Google.
03:33There were some that really stood out to me
03:35throughout the course, ones that I personally really liked.
03:37This is Mahi.
03:39She was just super blunt, to the point,
03:41and just laid it out really well.
03:43Wasn't a ton of fluff.
03:44I personally love that.
03:46I just liked the way that she talked,
03:48and she's in lots of the other courses as well.
03:50Google tends to choose really great instructors.
03:52Mahi was one of the ones that I personally really liked.
03:55Another one that I really liked was this guy right here.
03:57This is Amar.
03:58He was in the app building right up here.
04:01So I, again, learned a lot from the app building one
04:04because I didn't know much about this one personally.
04:07And so Amar just had a lot of really great personal stories,
04:09and that's what I personally look for in a good course.
04:12I like somebody who's good at storytelling,
04:14who is good at actually presenting the information.
04:17And so these are just some of the instructors
04:19that I personally really liked,
04:21but I think overall, all the instructors were really good.
04:23Throughout each course,
04:24there's a lot of different ways you learn.
04:25We've already looked at labs,
04:27and of course, there are videos with instructors.
04:29There are gonna be some things
04:30where you're just reading content,
04:32and it gives you some really good information,
04:33but we also have graded assignments like this right down here.
04:37I, of course, have already done all the assignments,
04:40but within this AI for content creation one,
04:42there is an assignment right here.
04:44This is basically like a quiz where it's multiple choice,
04:47and you need to go in and select the correct answer.
04:50Let's go ahead and just retry this one really quick,
04:52just to show you what it looks like.
04:54The questions within the quizzes are not just, you know,
04:57what is an LLM or a prompt?
04:59It walks you through different scenarios,
05:01and you need to kind of figure it out.
05:02For some of these quizzes, they were a bit challenging,
05:04and I personally liked that.
05:06I didn't want them to just be super boring and simple.
05:09These are ones that I personally had
05:11to really think about and answer.
05:13You can pause it right now,
05:14and you can look at this first or second question,
05:16and you can try to answer them.
05:18They do really make you think about
05:20what is the best way to handle this scenario.
05:22There were times within these quizzes,
05:23especially within the content creation course
05:25and the app building course,
05:26where I really had to think about these,
05:29and there were times I had to retake a quiz or two,
05:32but I would say that is a good thing,
05:33because I really had to think about these things,
05:35and these were the ones I probably learned the most from
05:37within this certificate.
05:39Overall, I actually really liked this certificate.
05:41I think it went a lot more in depth
05:43than I thought it was going to go,
05:45especially because I've been using AI a ton
05:47over the past several years.
05:49I didn't think I was gonna learn a lot,
05:50but there were certain things that I picked up,
05:52and I've actually used since taking this certificate.
05:55I'm a big fan of hands-on learning,
05:56so I really like the labs.
05:58I thought all the instructors were really good.
06:00Of course, I had my personal favorites,
06:01but all the instructors are really solid,
06:03and of course, they're really knowledgeable.
06:05They all work at Google,
06:06a lot of them specifically on the AI teams.
06:09And with that hands-on learning,
06:10you get to actually build things.
06:11Here is the app that I actually built in that last course.
06:15It's just a simple app where I can write down,
06:17you know, things that I appreciate about my wife,
06:19and then at the end of the week,
06:20it summarizes all those things for me,
06:22so I know all the things
06:23that I was appreciating her for this week.
06:25Again, I just like being really hands-on.
06:27I like building things,
06:28so for me, this was probably one of the biggest highlights
06:30of this course.
06:31I think if you're new to AI,
06:32and you're just picking it up,
06:34this would be like the perfect course for you,
06:35just because it is very, very broad.
06:37It covers a ton of different areas,
06:39and it goes pretty in-depth,
06:41and so I think it covers a lot of really great topics to know.
06:43If you already use AI,
06:45and there are areas or different courses in there
06:46that you're like, oh, I haven't done it for that,
06:48but I'd be interested in that,
06:49I still think it is a pretty solid certificate to take,
06:52because it covers all these different areas.
06:53In my opinion, this certificate gets two thumbs up.
06:56I think it was really good.
