00:17Think again. The Macaroni All Boys Cheer Squad is proving there's far more to it than meets the eye.
00:24At first, I was like, why not, let's add a girl, you know, make it co-ed, and it's not
00:29so unorthodox, right?
00:32But he was just like, let's just go full out, like be an all-boy team, you know?
00:36Like, who's going to stop us anyways, right? So I was like, okay, like, sure, let's just do it. Let's
00:41just go full force.
00:46And go full force they did. The squad has competed twice at the Malaysia Cheer Challenge Open
00:52and won the co-ed group stunt Open Level 6 title this year.
00:56You're probably wondering about the name. What does cheerleading have to do with Macaroni?
01:03I wanted macaroni because I wanted it to be fun and play homage to the competition as well
01:09because they gave us the opportunity to allow an all-boy cheer team.
01:13But also the bigger meaning behind it is like, macaroni, you know, it's a humble food.
01:18But everyone loves it. Until they try it, they don't know how good it is.
01:24Behind every gravity-defying stunt are countless hours of training, discipline, and communication.
01:31For these men, trust isn't just important, it's everything.
01:35And the lessons they've learnt through cheerleading extend far beyond the math.
01:40Cheerleading really changed me a lot.
01:42Because when I was in high school, I was quite introvert.
01:47Yeah, I don't really have a lot of friends.
01:49My communication also, like, it become better because I don't close up.
01:53I quite close up, so I mean, I open up to people.
01:57It's a never-ending surprise of a sport because there's always something new to look forward to,
02:04whether it may be teammates or skill-wise.
02:08Most importantly, I love cheer a lot because it brings people together.
