00:00It's an overcast Monday evening in Petaling Jaya, and the members of Malaysia Pro Wrestling
00:06are conducting their weekly training.
00:09These men are thrilling to watch as they leap and grapple with each other with sharp, well-choreographed movements.
00:15Supervising the session is Kuala Lumpur-born Iman Azman, also known as Golden Boy, one of
00:35the most prominent wrestlers on the Malaysian circuit.
00:40Despite being only 24, the wiry wrestler boasts over 11 years of professional wrestling experience
00:47and has won championships worldwide.
00:50In 2019, he travelled to Australia to challenge himself in the big leagues there, and eventually
00:56became the first-ever Malaysian-born Melbourne City Wrestling Inter-Commonwealth Champion.
01:02Why do I enjoy wrestling?
01:03That's a good question.
01:04I think it's the larger-than-life characters, the athleticism, the drama.
01:09It's all tucked into one.
01:11It's like stunts with a bit of drama in it, and I think it combines very, very well.
01:18Ironically, as a child, Iman wasn't allowed to watch wrestling, as it was considered too
01:23violent.
01:24He always had to sneak around after dark to catch it on TV.
01:28Today, Iman has gone from sneaking to strutting in the ring, much to the delight of his fans.
01:37Now back from Australia, the Golden Boy is on a mission to ensure Malaysian wrestlers, too,
01:43reach the gold standard of the sport.
01:46And on July 12th, you can catch him in action in full-throttle, MYPW's second match of the
01:51year.
01:52Alongside stars like MYPW World Champion Carlo Cannon, MYPW Southeast Asia Champion Shivam,
02:00and Singaporean Pro Wrestling Champion Da Butcherman.
02:03We're going all guests and no breaks.
02:06That's why we call it full-throttle, because we're not stopping.
02:09We're going up and up and up, and we're going to succeed and become Malaysia's and Southeast
02:13Asia's best premier professional wrestling promotion.
02:17TVA Ragu and Terrence Tho, FMT.
