00:00In the words of Leonardo DiCaprio and Django Unchained, Red Sox, you had my curiosity, now you have my attention.
00:07Play the clip there, Stiz.
00:09Throws, Durbin, swings and drives one, high and deep in the left field, at the track, at the wall, see
00:15ya later!
00:18Durbin goes deep. You are an insane person, your Maffray feeling pays off again, and it is 2-0 Red
00:26Sox.

00:47Today, a perfect road trip and a sweep of one of the best teams in baseball as the Sox beat
00:53the White Sox 2-1,
00:55sweeping their second series in a row.
00:57And gentlemen, it is time.
00:59Oh, you want to hear it again?
01:01Oh, yeah. Well, listen, I'll take it again.
01:02Sure, why not? I'm tweaking.
01:04Wilcano.
01:05But it is, it's time to start paying attention to this team.
01:08This team is 11 of 13 going back to that Yankees series.
01:12The White Sox, and that's the thing about this, about how great this series win was,
01:16and how you can feel good about it, is because the Sox had won 10 series in a row at
01:21home.
01:22Yeah, unbeatable home.
01:23Oh, I mean, they were honestly one of the hottest teams in baseball.
01:26I think they were 24-6 at home before this started.
01:28Unbelievable.
01:29And a team that was absolute trash two weeks ago just kicked their ass.
01:35And how about Caleb Durbin?
01:37Jackson, do me a favor, Jackson, if you don't mind.
01:39I want you to find out what Caleb's batting average before seeing our batting coach friend Lorenzo over there in
01:46Arlington.
01:47Because since then, Caleb has been one of the better hitters in the game.
01:52And you know who's loving this, too?
01:54And it was great listening to it because, I mean, it's, as I said, you know, it's been so painful
01:58for these guys.
01:59But our own Will Fleming, as a matter of fact, I just saw a tweet that Jared Karabas put out
02:04that said,
02:04quote, if you listen back to the final out of the radio broadcast, you can hear Will Fleming and Will
02:10Middlebrooks high-fiving.
02:12I did not think I'd say these words this year, but the Sox are rolling.
02:16I have to hear this for myself because I didn't hear it at the time.
02:20Stiz, do you happen to have the final play?
02:22Can we see if you can hear them high-five?
02:23Okay, let that roll, Stiz.
02:250-2.
02:26Here's the pitch.
02:27Swinging a high fly into left field.
02:29Coming on, Duran.
02:30Out goes Durbin.
02:31Jared is there.
02:32He makes the play.
02:33The Red Sox have swept the White Sox.
02:37Chapman closes it down.
02:39Sandoval returns.
02:40Durbin homers.
02:41The Red Sox going into the break 6-0.
02:46Okay.
02:46You know what we have to compare?
02:47By the way, that was great.
02:48You know what we have to compare that to?
02:50I remember when the Sox were, I don't want to say at their very bottom,
02:54it was when they were heading towards the bottom.
02:55There was a game where I don't know who the Sox were playing,
02:59but some guy just jacked it.
03:00And you could hear under his breath, Will Middlebrooks go, Jesus Christ.
03:06Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:06I remember.
03:07That was great.
03:08So we've gone from Will Middlebrooks under his breath saying that to them
03:13actually high-fiving in the booth.
03:16And I just, after this series, this team has truly earned your attention.
03:21I mean, could they lose eight of the next ten?
03:23Sure.
03:23Well, no, no, don't say that.
03:26But, I mean, what I'm saying is that after three recent sweeps,
03:29including two of the best teams in baseball,
03:31you're at least watching a team that had absolutely every reason to throw in the towel
03:36but just has not given up.
03:39And I believe that today was the day where I was watching them and going,
03:44all right, now you're making things interesting,
03:47and now this is becoming, if not must-see television,
03:52something that you need to keep an eye on.
03:54Whereas, to be quite honest, it's very easy to dismiss a team
03:57and just like, you know, who cares when you come home at night?
04:00You'd rather watch, you know, some, you know, Widow's Bay or something like that.
04:03But now the Red Sox are earning,
04:05they're earning your trust back that they are going to at least give you a quality product.
04:11There's a high drive to deep right field.
04:12So, that's it right there.
04:14Well, like, because even the Yankees sweep at home,
04:17the Yankees don't have Judge, they don't have Stanton.
04:19It was like, okay, it was pretty good, but you got to prove it.
04:21Then, you know, the sweep of the Angels, the Angels stink.
04:24Everybody knows that.
04:25One of the worst teams in baseball over the last decade.
04:27Worst franchises.
04:29But you, this is an attention getter.
04:31I mean, not only because of Jake Bennett's seven shutout
04:35and Sandoval today who's off the scrap heap, but you're right.
04:37It does, you can't say with a straight face you believe in the roster, can you?
04:41Like, you know, the lineup is not really something to believe in.
04:46However, there are guys that are sort of contributing in weird ways, bunts,
04:50and like, they're getting contributions everywhere.
04:51Enough for you to say, the AL East, the AL,
04:55there's nobody really that you fear in the American League.
04:57That's what Bradford said yesterday.
04:58And do you want them to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline?
05:02If you had to decide today, it would be buyers, right?
05:04Yes, right.
05:05Oh, no, no.
05:06Today?
05:06Oh, no, no, no.
05:07I still think that you've got to stay the course.
05:09They're so far behind that I don't believe.
05:12They're not so far behind.
05:14But they are.
05:15I mean, how many teams are ahead of them now?
05:17They're two and a half out of the wild card.
05:18There are only four teams to jump.
05:21And basically, if you compare this to a year ago,
05:24it's kind of a similar vibe.
05:26I mean, they finished hot at the All-Star break last year.
05:28A year ago at this time, they were 48 and 45.
05:32Okay?
05:33Yeah.
05:33So, right now, you're 43 and 48.
05:36It's not that different.
05:38You have winning 11 of 13 has flipped the script.
05:41I guess the problem is that there's so many teams that are, I don't know,
05:45there's so many teams that are still in it that, you know,
05:48actually buying is going to be tough.
05:51Okay, maybe not a massive buy, but you're certainly not selling.
05:53I mean, there's an article from Rosenthal out today that Sonny Gray,
05:55the Braves are interested, and, you know,
05:57the Red Sox aren't sure what they're going to do,
05:59but they could get a haul for him.
06:00And forget about the haul.
06:02I'm off the haul.
06:02I am keeping Sonny Gray.
06:03Can you imagine trading Sonny Gray right now?
06:05What a message that would send to your fans?
06:07No, you're right.
06:08You're right.
06:08I mean, because now you're at a point where you've got to reconsider things.
06:13Because here's what I think that management's going to be doing,
06:16and it's not a bad philosophy going into this trade deadline with the way
06:21that these guys are playing, is that maybe we don't make any kind of massive deal
06:27because we know that we are going to get guys like Roman Anthony
06:30and hopefully Garrett Crochet back for the second half of the season.
06:32Hopefully Roman Anthony and hopefully Garrett Crochet.
06:35I know.
06:35By the way, we've got to talk about the Roman Anthony thing in a minute,
06:37but first let's at least, you know, smoke a cigarette in bed for a minute.
06:42Like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know,
