00:00Here is my first and obvious question. Does this mean everything is fixed? Let me start with that
00:05to each of you. Does it mean that everything's fixed? Are the Red Sox back on the beam? Tyler
00:10Miller can go. No. Maz came in at one point during the game. It was that fifth inning when
00:14Sedan Raffaella was in center field. Yes, he lost the ball in the sun. Didn't have sunglasses on.
00:19You can say whatever. That's going to happen. What happened after that ball fell was more my problem.
00:24Jogged all the way to the ball, allowed the runner to get to third base, and it ended up being
00:28costly
00:29in that moment in time, and it should have been a scoreless game for the Red Sox. Sonny Gray should
00:32have given you six scoreless, and it was nothing to worry about. Do I think all the issues are solved
00:37too? No. Two for eight with runners in scoring position. You were fine in that department.
00:40The difference today, you were able to hit the long ball. Wilson Gutierrez going deep.
00:44Marcelo Meyer going deep off a lefty, which is awesome to see. It's very encouraging.
00:48How consistently will you be able to do that, I think, is the real question. I think Gutierrez,
00:52you could depend on being that bad. Meyer, I think we're going to ride the ups and downs as he
00:56is a
00:56rookie. A lot of encouraging signs seeing the guys you brought in this offseason and Sonny Gray do his
01:01thing. Caleb Durbin getting a hit, finally giving you some life there in Contreras, but positive
01:06signs a lot like opening day where this is how you kind of draw it up to win, but until
01:10you do it
01:10regularly and you go through the rotation one time and your rotation carries you the way it needs to,
01:15no, you can't get too excited about anything. Yeah, Milliken's exactly right about that. This does not
01:20mean that everything is fixed, but it's a sign of how this team is capable of winning baseball games.
01:25To me, Sonny Gray is the takeaway from today. I thought he was outstanding. A completely different
01:31pitcher from what you saw in Cincinnati. His control was back. The contact was weak all day long.
01:37You know, you really appreciate why he's been an effective pitcher for so long in baseball. Calls his
01:43own game, has a million different pitches. He really stood out to me today. If that's the Sonny Gray
01:48you get for the majority of the year, that's a significant development for this team. I thought he was
01:54excellent today. So that's my number one positive takeaway.
