00:00G'day from the Bureau, with your national weather forecast around the country for Thursday
00:05the 9th of July. Those cold frosty mornings will continue across southeastern Australia
00:11on Thursday with showers also continuing along much of our east coast as well. We're also
00:17watching a fair bit of unsettled weather through central parts of the country with a trough
00:21system there. That's bringing showers and isolated thunderstorms through parts of Queensland
00:25and northern South Australia. But notice this high pressure system ridging right around the country
00:30and that's what's going to cause settled conditions for many. We're also watching a weak front just
00:35brushing southwestern parts of WA late in the day. That'll bring some showers there. While Tasmania
00:41under the influence of the high, another cold frosty day but mostly sunny. So cold frosty morning
00:46but cold sunny day. Moving now, so let's have a look at all that in more detail. Firstly in Queensland
00:52we've got two bits of precipitation. Firstly those coastal showers along parts of the Queensland coast
00:57with those hit and miss showers. And then that weather system in far southwestern parts of Queensland
01:02just bringing showers, patchy rain and isolated thunderstorms there. Pretty cool in the southwest
01:07with that cloud rain and southerly winds. Only getting to the mid to high teens out there. I'll get
01:12out of the way here for southeastern Queensland. You can see temperatures also on the cool side there
01:17with temperatures in the low 20s or up into the high teens through parts of the range around the Toowoomba
01:22area. And then we've got low to mid 20s to the central coast and then high 20s into the north
01:27coast
01:27and just reaching 30 into the far northern areas. But notice inland areas staying pretty dry as well
01:33between the coastal showers and that rain in southwestern Queensland. Brisbane looking at a few
01:38showers particularly about the coast and bayside suburbs. 22 degrees. Moving down into New South Wales,
01:44similar story. These coastal showers continuing right along the New South Wales coast during the
01:50day. Maybe spread inland to our ranges in some parts during the afternoon and evening. Cooler conditions,
01:56cold and frosty start through our inland areas. You can see getting to the negatives around the Canberra
02:01area and major sneak a shower or possible rumble into far northwestern parts of the state later in the
02:08day. Showers and cooler on the east coast, mid to high teens right across the state. Maybe a little bit
02:13cooler here in the southeast. Sydney a few showers and 18 degrees. Canberra a cold frosty start minus
02:20one and then getting to 13 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Moving down into Victoria and another cold and
02:27frosty and foggy morning on the way for much of the state and I'll get out of the way there.
02:31We've seen
02:32single figures down to zero and probably some areas below zero on Thursday morning. So our valleys,
02:38so our eastern and central ranges will probably see another round of fog. But then that fog and frost
02:42should clear to a mostly sunny day across large parts of the state. Staying cool though, temperatures
02:48in the low teens through southern areas and getting to the mid to high teens through northern areas.
02:53A cold start, but then a partly cloudy afternoon and 14 degrees in Melbourne. Down in Tasmania, similar
03:00story with inland fog and frost during the morning hours, clearing to a partly cloudy day. Temperatures,
03:06once again on the cool side, pretty much low teens across much of the state. Maybe just a few light
03:10showers on the north and western coast as well during the day, but little if anything if they do
03:16occur. A cold frosty start, but then a cool day and 13 degrees in Hobart. Moving up into South Australia
03:24and northern areas will be impacted by that trough system, bringing showers, patchy rain and isolated
03:30thunderstorms. And that'll keep temperatures in the mid to high teens through there. Also impacting our dirt
03:35roads for travellers out and about across the northern parts of the state up towards the Lake
03:39Eyre region. Further south, we've got temperatures in the mid to high teens with partly cloudy conditions.
03:4515 to 17, the magic number for most of the state. Adelaide looking at partly cloudy, 17 degrees.
03:52Moving over into WA and pretty dry conditions for much of the state. The only wet weather. We'll just
04:04move during the day and that'll extend slightly inland as we move towards Thursday night. Otherwise,
04:10temperatures in the high teens to low 20s through many areas get into the mid to high 20s as we
04:16get
04:16into northern parts of WA. Perth itself looking at a few late showers and 21 degrees. Pretty mild for
04:23winter. Moving up into northern Australia and you see that weather system there in southern parts of the
04:28NT. That'll be moving out during the day, but we could see some showers and cloud lingering in
04:32southeastern parts. But otherwise, it should be further west, partly cloudy and pretty dry through
04:38Alice. Further north, dry and partly cloudy conditions. Mid to high 20s through central areas.
04:43And as usual, low 30s through northern parts of the NT on Thursday. Maybe just the coastal showers in
04:50those easterlies around the far northern parts of the Arnhem Land. Otherwise, sunny conditions spreading
04:55right across the Kimberley as well with hot, dry and sunny conditions. Darwin looking at a partly cloudy
05:0232 degrees. So with a bit of weather on the way or a weekend approaching in coming days, you can
05:07always
05:08get the latest forecasts and warnings via our website and app. And I'll be here again tomorrow to give you
05:13Friday's forecast.
