00:00So we're here today to raise concerns about Blue Scope making cuts to up to 50% of all shift
00:06electricians on site.
00:08Yeah, well the worker safety is paramount for us at the ETU.
00:11Now, with this cut of up to 50%, that results in delayed response times to the workforce,
00:18delayed response times for emergencies, as well as a number of other issues that are going to obviously be affected
00:24as well.
00:25We're currently going through consultation with Blue Scope in regards to it, but there's been no definite answer
00:30and there's been no definite proposition in regards to how they're going to mediate any such risks to their safety.
00:37So high voltage issues throughout Blue Scope have been raised to us by our members.
00:41They're doing high voltage work and switching with no supervision, no emergency response protocol
00:46and no guidance throughout the procedures.
00:51Well, consultation is one of our biggest issues at the moment through Blue Scope.
00:55As stated in their EBA, they can roll out any procedure or policy without consultation.
01:00And that's stated in the EBA that all the workers, fitters, as well as production workers operate under.
01:06So at the end of the day, Blue Scope can roll out whatever procedures or policies, even without consultation.
01:12And this has put the workers in a position where, regardless of if they sit down and raise their concerns,
01:17Blue Scope, at the end of the day, can dictate what's been rolled out on site.
01:25Blue Scope, at the end of the day, could let the people live in the same государ。。.
