00:00Three people, including two company directors, have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission
00:06over an alleged 20 million ringgit financing fraud linked to the purchase of padi and rice.
00:13The suspects, believed to be family members, are accused of submitting false documents to a financial institution
00:19in order to secure the 20 million ringgit financing.
00:24According to a source, preliminary investigations suggest the money was not actually used to purchase
00:29padi or rice.
00:31The main suspect, a company operations manager in his 30s, was arrested yesterday when he went to the MACC office
00:38in Allostar
00:39to furnish his statement.
00:41He will be remanded until July 11th.
00:44The two other suspects, both company directors in their 60s, were released on bail.
00:51MACC said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
00:57Senior Investigations Director Hafaz Nazar confirmed the arrests when contacted.
