00:00The High Court has found former Prime Minister Najib Razak guilty on all 25 charges of abuse
00:12of power and money laundering in his 1MDB case. Justice Colin Lawrence Sequeira ruled that the
00:18defense failed to raise reasonable doubt on the prosecution's case. Najib had stood trial on
00:25four counts of abuse of power and 21 of money laundering involving 2.28 billion ringgit
00:31in 1MDB funds deposited in his AmBank accounts between February 2011 and December 2014. A total
00:39of 50 witnesses testified during the prosecution's case, which spanned 253 hearing days from August
00:4528, 2019 to May 30, 2024. During the defense stage, Najib's lawyer called 26 witnesses to support his
00:53case. The defense hearing began on December 2nd last year and concluded on May 6th.
