00:01These 84 students at SMK Putrajaya Precinct 15-1 just got a hands-on lesson in Powering Malaysia's Future.
00:09The school is the first stop for Powering the Future 4.0,
00:13a nationwide energy literacy program by Tenaga National Berhad and Star Media Group.
00:18Now, in its fourth edition, it'll roll out to 30 primary and secondary schools
00:23across Selangor, Putrajaya, Perak and Melaka in the coming months,
00:26with support from the National Education Department.
00:30As we continue to go from school to school, we also expand the program into universities.
00:36And with the aim that the impact is much greater,
00:42we hope that we like to see the energy efficiency is being part of the culture of our people of
00:49Malaysia,
00:49so that we will continue to utilize the resources such that it is utilized efficiently.
00:58What we like to encourage the younger generation, because it starts from the younger generation,
01:05as they grow to become the future consumers of electricity.
01:10Putrajaya State Education Department Director, Nadimin Abdul Aziz,
01:14said that the program has been raising energy awareness among Malaysian youth since 2023.
01:19It's a new thing for them to explore, where this energy comes and everything,
01:24and with the modules that have been prepared by TNB,
01:28so the students can have a hands-on activities,
01:32and they do know and realize that electricity is very important,
01:35the energy is very important, and they will learn how to conserve them for the future.
01:39The program blends classroom learning with interactive activities,
01:43covering energy efficiency, electrical safety, and renewable sources like solar, hydro, and wind.
01:49Students also take part in simulations designed to build critical thinking
01:53and everyday energy-saving habits, while sparking interest in STEM.
02:02The initiative is absolutely vital because the climate change and the sustainability
02:09are no longer future issues that are happening right now,
02:15and by giving this experience to the students,
02:19they can relate what they learn in the classroom,
02:23and how to apply them in the reality.
02:28And the lessons are landing.
02:30For me personally, I think it would have to be how much my daily choices
02:35have an impact on the environment.
02:38It really made me aware of my carbon footprint and the importance of sustainability.
02:43I feel like InGenius is saving our world from global crisis,
02:47especially when we're using energy like coal and gas.
02:52We can switch it out with green-type energy like sun, water, and air.
02:59What I learned today is we need to use electric efficient,
03:03and if we don't use electric but efficient,
03:06it will give a huge impact for us and the earth.
03:09Since 2023, Powering the Future has reached thousands of students nationwide,
03:14building the knowledge, habits, and mindset
03:17for Malaysia's next generation of energy ambassadors.
