The Election Commission said some 1.31 million voters or 48.91% of the eligible voters have cast their ballots in the Johor election as of 2pm on Saturday (July 11).

Election officials had also begun the vote counting process for postal votes at several polling centres.

00:16They said the Semerang constituency recorded the highest voter turnout at 57.8%, followed
00:22by Sedili at 56.6% and Kahang at 56%.
00:27They said the 48.91% turnout was an increase from 39.71% in the 2022 general election.
00:37The voting process at several polling centres had stopped before the 6 p.m. closing time,
00:43due to small numbers of voters.
00:45Election officials had also begun the vote-counting process for postal votes at several polling
00:52centres.
00:52Balai Raya Pulau Basar became the first polling centre to close at 11 a.m., while Balai
00:59Raya Pulau Hour and SK Pulau Pemanggil closed at noon and two others closed at 2 p.m.
01:06The election saw 172 candidates vying for 56 seats, including 12 four-cornered contests, 27 three-cornered
01:16contests and 14 straight fights.
01:19The election commission targets a voter turnout of about 70%, with the results expected to
01:24be announced as early as 10 p.m.
