MCA will approach the Johor state election with a calm mindset regardless of whether its candidates face straight fights or multi-cornered contests, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said.

The party president acknowledged that the next two weeks of campaigning would not be easy, warning candidates to expect rumours and unexpected campaign tactics.

00:16He said the coming two weeks of campaigning would be challenging,
00:19with candidates likely to face rumours and unpredictable tactics from rivals
00:24and urge them to work hard for every vote.
00:27Dr. Wee was speaking after accompanying MCA Youth Chief Ling Tiansun
00:32at the Yongpeng Nomination Centre on Saturday.
00:35He said he was heartened that local supporters from various communities
00:39had turned up voluntarily to back Ling.
00:42Dr. Wee, who is also Aya Hitam MP, said Yongpeng was familiar ground for him
00:48and it was fitting that he came out to support MCA's Youth Chief,
00:52whom he described as one of the party's key leaders in Johor.
00:55Ling said his campaign this week would focus on highlighting past achievements
01:00before outlining future plans, including a five-year development blueprint,
01:05to be unveiled on July 4.
01:07He added that he hoped to secure a stronger mandate
01:10to continue driving growth, job creation and housing solutions for the constituency.
