00:00And ahead of next week's NATO summit in Ankara, leaders are set to declare Iran can never have
00:06a nuclear weapon and must fully respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Homoz. Derek,
00:13I think the big question here is, is Tehran even likely to take any notice of what is said
00:19at this NATO summit? I think they'll take notice, but at the same time, I mean, NATO is not going
00:25to become militarily involved against Iran unless Iran were to attack NATO. And so it's sort of a
00:33thanks very much, but no thanks. I'm not interested necessarily in what you say because you don't
00:39really have any skin in the game. You are not an active participant. That's not to say that Iran
00:45only understands force. I hate when people say that. Sometimes people say that about China or Russia or
00:51other countries, it's not quite that simple. Countries do take note of statements, especially
00:55collective statements among a very important organization like NATO with 32 members and
01:03with obviously nuclear capabilities. But at the same time, I mean, if NATO is not actively engaged
01:10either in military operations or the negotiations, then it's not nearly as important as what the U.S.
01:18says in the context of the MOU.
