It is showtime in the Northern Territory with people from across Central Australia coming together in Alice Springs to celebrate the spirit and diversity of the region. The event attracts more than 22-thousand people over two days and offers something for everyone.

00:02It's a community event like no other.
00:06One thing I love about the show is just bringing the kids down and watching the kids having fun.
00:10I like just seeing all the craft in the rumble hall and just like the community getting together.
00:15Getting together with the family.
00:17Spotlighting the region's industries and giving the younger generation a chance to shine.
00:22Barbie, because she's my favourite character.
00:26We're teaching our calves how to lead as best as they can.
00:30I like walking around and looking at stuff and watching the cattle and the ball sail at the end.

00:40We've got about a hundred birds in the shed.

00:44At its heart a celebration of community.
00:47Artcraft, hobbies, cooking and more.

00:53All backed by an army of volunteers including St John's.

01:09Well I just like riding all the rides and it's fun, you know, getting all show bags and riding all
01:15the crazy stuff.
01:16And it's really, really good and having good fun.
01:20And the fun doesn't stop here.
01:22The carnival continues north to Tennant Creek, Catherine and then Darwin.
01:26It has no cycling here we've devoted them to St John in London.
