01:50the rescue he was since the past weekend and that's something amazing. He was surrounded
01:59by rescuing people from all over the world that they are right now in Venezuela trying
02:05to look for survivors or to rescue some bodies. It's really an amazing celebration among
02:14all those rescues and to know the reactions of the situation. Let's go to Belen De Los
02:22Santos, she's on La Guaira. Belen, that was really amazing. Eight days after those two strong
02:30earthquakes, people think it's too late to find anybody alive, but we were wrong. They
02:35found this guy, Hernan Gil Flores, really amazing. What's the situation right now? How
02:41is he doing? Exactly, Carlos. Well, we have been following the situation. Of course, he
02:51was hospitalized. We will have more information in the coming hours. Just as you were saying,
02:56such an important and really a miracle rescue. Let's take into account that experts usually
03:03say that it is the 72 hour mark. The moment that is crucial after which finding people alive
03:12under the rubble becomes more and more difficult. Well, we are over a week, eight days after the
03:19twin earthquakes and still miracle rescues are happening here in La Guaira. Of course, the
03:25story of Hernan Gil is the story of the day. In that case, a story that we could share and
03:33live through with our teams from Telesur deployed, who are doing such an amazing work here 24-7
03:40in La Guaira, trying to bring really an all comprehensive view of what is happening here
03:47at the rescue sites. And also in the many, many places in which there are camps being set
03:55up to assist the population, to assist with in terms of healthcare, to really care for this
04:01population that has been affected by this twin earthquakes, with La Guaira being one of the
04:06most affected states, Carlos. And it's not the only rescue operations underway. The one that
04:14we saw with the case of Hernan Gil, of course, wonderful success having him alive and up and
04:21over, out from the rubble. But also in the place where we are right now, from near, near Los
04:30Cocos, we also saw in the early hours of the morning, a site where some signs of life were perceived
04:39by
04:40some of the brigades and all protocols were activated as well. And they continue to pursue that rescue in search
04:49of what could be also a sign of life. That is the situation. Of course, the days go by and
04:56that
04:56becomes a slower possibility. But we know, because we're seeing them, that these miracles do happen.
05:03And the important thing is that this shows how all the efforts from the international brigades, but also from
05:10the Venezuelan organizations, the brigades, the different forces that are here at play, with so
05:18much experienced people and also so many volunteers who have come from all over Venezuela, they are
05:24putting the ability of saving lives first. And they are determined to continue efforts until every possible
05:33life is saved. That is what the story of Hernan Hill shows us, Carlos, I think.
05:41Absolutely. Belen, I'm watching heavy machinery behind you. When is those heavy
05:47machineries going to start working? Because I know when there is somebody under the
05:51rumble like Hernan Hill Flores, they have to do something artesanal. They have to use the hands brick by brick.
05:57They have to remove. When there is no more hope is when they are going to start using that heavy
06:04machinery. When is going to be that? When is it going to be when they say there is no chance
06:09we can find anybody alive under all those buildings?
06:17Well, of course, that is not a definitive date for the entire region. Actually, this is being taken
06:23site by site. And of course, it's the determination of the brigades and the experts that are working
06:31at every site. What kind of tools, what kind of machinery is being used in every process, right?
06:39So we have seen some heavy machinery operating in maybe not some central areas, some places where they are
06:47just moving around some of the rubble where it doesn't threat any possible human life. And of course, the rest
06:57of them
06:57are awaiting for the brigades to say that it is the moment in it depends on every case because of
07:05course, the
07:06people working there know what the situation is, what they need in terms of moving away rubble in order to
07:15access different
07:16points of the collapsed buildings and then maybe being able to access the possible survivors.
07:24So it's really, you were saying it correctly, an artisanal work in which all the brigades are collaborating
07:29together with their different skills, because we have brigades from all over the world and we have been
07:36learning about, they bring different tools, they bring different machinery and they bring different experience
07:43in terms with what they are used to seeing in their own territories. And from that set of skills, for
07:51example,
07:52in the rescue of Hernan Gil, we had the wide participation of a brigade from Chile, from the Chilean fire
08:00squad with so
08:01much experience in this type of structures. So the use of machinery depends on what they are assessing at every
08:09moment.
08:09For example, in the building that you were just mentioning behind me, there was several instances in which
08:16they tried to remove some rubble, but only in specific cases because they were safeguarding another part.
08:24And this always has to do with the way in which they are able, they're always checking and double checking
08:31that there is no sign of possible life.
08:35We were talking to some of the international brigades as well in the past days and they were telling us
08:41that they were
08:42going back to the sites that they had already worked at once and twice to check and double check in
08:49case anything had changed.
08:51That is the situation right now. And that is one of the situations in which I was saying earlier today,
08:58one of those sites,
08:59one of the rescuers heard what he described as a sign of life and activated the whole protocol.
09:05So again, there is not a definite date. It has to do with how operations move forward at every site.
09:13And there is a hard work at play with a lot of teams involved, specialized teams deciding what, when is
09:22the moment to use each one of those tools.
09:28Thank you very much.
09:28Belen de los Santos, thank you very much. I recommend you to follow Belen.
09:32I know Belen has an account on Instagram. I'm following you. I don't know if you have a Twitter.
09:37I was trying to look for you. I couldn't find you yet.
09:40But it's very important to follow people who are on the ground, people who know what's going on.
09:44And the hashtag we are using is WeStandWithVenezuela. Thank you, Belen. Thank you very much. Take care.
09:52WeStandWithVenezuela. The whole world stands with Venezuela. Let's go with some reactions from different parts of the world.
10:00Let's start in Argentina where there are a big community of Venezuelans living there yesterday in Buenos Aires.
10:09That's what happened yesterday.
10:13They got together to pray and offer support for Venezuelan people that was in a park. It's called Vaticano Park.
10:24As you can see, there were a lot of Venezuelans who got there together praying for the people who are
10:32right now in Venezuela.
10:34Let's go to Portugal. In Portugal also, as a matter of fact, Portugal is playing tonight.
10:43But back in the country, the government decreed a national day of mourning for the victims of the earthquake in
10:51Venezuela.
10:52Luis Montenegro announced a day of national mourning on Sunday in honor of all those victims of the tragedy.
11:00Thank you very much, Portugal. Also, we have some sounds from people, professional athletics, who they know how tough the
11:14situation is in Venezuela.
11:16And they have this to say about the Venezuelan people and what they are going through right now.
11:24Bellingham. Bellingham, in Spanish for Venezuela. Bellingham, one for two for Venezuela.
11:28For Venezuela?
11:29Yes, for sure.
11:29Yes, for sure.
11:30You have a lot of practice in Venezuela throughout Madrid.
11:34Do you dedicate a word to the people who are suffering today in Venezuela?
11:37Yes, a lot of excitement for everyone in Venezuela and a lot of love.
11:42Thank you very much, Bellingham.
12:20Okay.
12:21Thank you so much.
12:21really nice gesture of the people from Universidad de Chile, one of the strongest team in Chile.
12:32And look how they celebrate, that's the celebration of Renner Castro,
12:38the B2-0, the Puerto Montes, the Puerto Concepcion, and they celebrate this way,
12:46very emotional, he pulled out this Venezuelan flag.
12:55And also those teams, you know, we are waiting today, you were listening before the show,
13:03the acting president, Elsie Rodriguez, we haven't got information today, an update on the victims,
13:08but we know that one of the students of the Athletic, they lost one of the students,
13:18and they wrote like this, the Athletic of Madrid family, easy mourning for the passing of Matias,
13:25Alejandro Ortega Munoz, a student at Tor Venezuelan Academy, and his parents,
13:31like Karina Munoz, Awanacha, Ramon Alberto Ortega, Rico, made the rest in peace. You know the
13:40team, the Athletic, they have different schools all over the country with the people who play there,
13:48and that was a kid from Venezuela. And also the Braves, the Atlanta Braves baseball team, MLB,
13:56the support that is affected by the devastating earthquake in Venezuela. The Atlanta Braves Foundation
14:03will match fund donations up to 25,000 through July. Visit and you can see that. If you go and
14:11can do it,
14:11Braves.com Relief to learn more and contribute. They really need all the help you can give them.
14:20Please do it if you have a chance. If you know Big Papi Ortiz, a famous Dominican baseball player,
14:29and he also has something to say about Venezuelan people. Let's listen to him.
14:35It was a disaster. It was two major aircraft that hit five cities in Venezuela, and they need our help.
14:47So donate whatever you can. We're going to be here collecting every single thing that they need
14:54down there to ship down there. Help us out through Red Sox Foundation, Dark Core, slash Relief,
15:01to continue helping our friends in Venezuela. Thank you so much.
15:08Thank you. Absolutely. We have to help them if we have the possibility to do it. Here in Mexico City,
15:16there are different collection centers to support those affected by the Venezuelan earthquake.
15:23Charlie has the chance this morning to be at the Museum of Fine Art, where it's one of those places
15:28where there is a collection center. Let's see what he found. Charlie, go ahead.
15:34Hey, Carlos. How are you? Just five or six blocks away from the Fan Fest in Zócalo,
15:41here right next to the Museum of Special Artes, there is a collection center for people of Venezuela.
15:49I had the chance to talk to one of the organizers, and this is what she had to say.
15:53So right now we're going to do a cultural activity, especially for Venezuela, which is our brother in
16:00this big Latin America. And it's really important to understand that helping is not only with things,
16:07but also with love and ways to provide them that they're not alone in this situation they're living
16:13in the earthquakes they're living. And a lot of people that right now in this moment need our help
16:18in all over the world. What's this organization? We're just like young people doing stuff. We think
16:24that it's really important that art, culture, and also health is part of the humanity. And in times
16:31when genocides and wars are coming through our lives, it's important to understand that helping others
16:36is a way of resistance. Where are you taking all the supplies that you guys are gathering? So we're going
16:42to
16:42the embassy because it's the best place to go because of the fast way it is. But it's also to
16:48understand
16:48that also Mexico has been one of the first countries that bring help to Venezuela with a lot of help,
16:56humanity, and also people that can help them. What do you guys need most?
17:01Well, first it's important to understand that medicine is really important because there's a lot of
17:06people that need it and also it's important to ask what why do they need. There's a lot of noises,
17:13a lot of media talking about it, but we don't hear them. What are they needing? So it's important to
17:19go
17:19through the local media to understand what is coming, what is what is important to help, and what to do
17:27to it. Where there you have it, Carlos. As you can see, Mexico is constantly thinking about Venezuela
17:33and they're always trying to give a helping hand. Back to you, Carlos.
17:40Thank you, Charlie. I was thinking what the girl was saying. Helping is a form of resistance. Nowadays,
17:47when you see so many people mean on social media, helping is a form of resistance. Pretty smart lady.
17:55Let's go for a short break, but let's go with the break with our segment. Let's score a goal for
18:01Venezuelan People.
18:11We are from the Baisers of the Baisers of the Baisers of the Baisers of Venezuela. We're
18:13from the Baisers of the Baisers of Venezuela. We do much support for the victims of the
18:15earthquake and we're with you.
18:54apoya a Venezuela.
20:13Right now he's waiting for Portugal o Croacia to play against Spain.
20:20And that's so far.
20:21But let's go to yesterday.
20:22England came from behind to beat the Republic of Congo.
20:26At first finish, Kane scored vital doublets.
20:29They were losing.
20:31But Brian Cipenga scored the first one seven minutes.
20:35Kane scored twice.
20:37The second one four minutes from the game to be over.
20:43And England is going to play, as you can see on the screen, it's going to play Mexico.
20:48In the Azteca, that's going to be Sunday.
20:51It's going to be a great game.
20:52Belgium, another European team who was playing against an African team.
20:57Senegal, it was really close.
20:59Senegal was doing great.
21:01But the Europeans scored a last-gap penalty after a late comeback.
21:06And they could face USA next.
21:11Belgium beat Senegal 3-2.
21:13Amazing game.
21:14Everybody was cheering for the African who were playing fantastic.
21:192-0, 2-2.
21:21And when it was almost a penalty, that's very controversial.
21:25Some people, I'm included, I don't think it was a penalty, but that's the way it is soccer.
21:32And that's the way Senegal are going home.
21:38Belgium is going to the next.
21:39And the last one was one of the home teams.
21:42USA didn't have any problem to advance to the round of 16.
21:45They beat Bosnia-Herzé Brovina 2-0, but they lost the guy you see, the number 20.
21:53One of the best.
21:54He got a red card, and he's not going to be able to play the next match.
22:01Later today, like I said before, it's going to be a very emotional game.
22:05Because two of the most loved players in this tournament is Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Portugal
22:14against Croatia for their A's.
22:17The two of them, they said, more probably this is going to be our last World Cup.
22:21So one of those two legends is going to go home today.
22:27Let's see if the game is going to be later.
22:29Only in half an hour.
22:31And later, Switzerland are sharing.
22:33Let's go with Hector Villar.
22:35Hector is in Toronto, where they're going to play those matches.
22:39And Hector, how are you?
22:41You are in front of the stadium.
22:43What's the atmosphere right now?
22:52Carlos, a big hug for you.
22:55I admire you a lot.
22:56I have always followed your career, and it's an honor for me to be in touch with you.
23:01Carlos Montero, it's a pleasure made a perfect play.
23:09Because the ball doesn't get stained.
23:12This is the mascot of the game.
23:26It represents the last ball.
23:29It's the maple.
23:30The people.
23:32Who will win today?
23:34Only one can pass in this 16th state.
23:44Croatia and Portugal.
23:47This is the match that I would like to say.
23:51That is the most expected game.
23:55The expectations are plenty.
23:59Whatever the better game is, it's going to be the decision of the players.
24:04Both captains are ready with their groups.
24:09Luka Modric with Croatia.
24:12A very stable selection during the last years.
24:15Because in the previous World Cup in Qatar, 2022,
24:192022, and in Russia, 2012, it was 1st and 2nd place.
24:29The following are the impressions before this match that will take place here at 7 p.m.,
24:37Toronto time, just in a few minutes.
24:42And these are the impressions regarding the possible outcomes.
24:48I'm going with 2-1 to Portugal.
24:51I can see it going to extra time or penalties as well.
24:54But 2-1 Portugal is my prediction.
24:57I'm going 3-1 Portugal.
24:59A couple goals from Ronaldo and maybe a last minute free kick from him too.
25:04There's going to be a lot of passing.
25:06There's probably going to be a lot, a lot of fun happening.
25:09I bet you all the fans for each side is going to have a great time.
25:12I think it's going to be a very tough battle.
25:15And who do you expect is going to take the win today?
25:18Well, I'm always going to say Hrvetska.
25:21I mean, that's my team.
25:22That's my number one.
25:23I love Luka Modric.
25:25I'm expecting hard work, like nothing but successes,
25:28and for them to bring it home.
25:31I think today will be a really good game.
25:32I'm quite excited to see, you know,
25:34two great countries battle it out against each other.
25:36But I do think that Croatia will pull through.
25:39My game prediction is a 2-1 win with a Ronaldo goal.
25:49Today, Toronto will say goodbye.
25:52It's really necessary to say that it has been a fantastic occasion,
25:58plenty of passion,
26:02taking the name of this city and this country in a very good position.
26:08Toronto today says goodbye with a match that we'll be describing fully today.
26:17We say goodbye to the maple with the number one
26:20and a big hug to you, Carlos.
26:24It's an honor, truly.
26:28Hector Villar, you are very, very kind.
26:31Thank you very much for your words, Hector, in Toronto.
26:34I'll give you my prediction.
26:37Luka Modric is going to be surprised for Ronaldo and Portugal,
26:42and he's going to take the winner.
26:43At least it's what I hope.
26:45Maybe it's not going to happen.
26:46This is all for today.
26:47Thank you very much.
26:49See you all tomorrow.
26:50Bye-bye.
26:50Bye-bye.
