00:00In Venezuela, the rescue efforts continued after the back-to-back earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5, that affected
00:08the country on June 24.
00:10Our correspondent, Luis Alberto Matos, is currently in the state of La Guayra with more information to keep our viewers
00:17updated.
00:18Hello, Luis.
00:22Hello, Laura. Hello to our viewers once more.
00:25As you were saying, we continue to be deployed.
00:27Telesur continues to be deployed here in La Guayra, the most affected state, as it has been deployed since the
00:32very beginning of the tragedy that hit on Wednesday, June 24, the back-to-back earthquake 7.2 to 7
00:39.5.
00:40As you were saying, rescue operations continue alongside, as well as in parallel, with the comprehensive attention to all the
00:45victims, as well as the recovery process, the dignified recovery process of the bodies of the victims that are on
00:52the rubble.
00:52The building that has completely collapsed, that is behind me, just an hour ago, a body was retrieved from the
01:00rubble, and I could witness the utmost respect with which that whole process was carried out step by step,
01:06in coordination with the different authorities that are present here, with the different foreign brigades.
01:11There is a brigade from Jordan that is working in that building behind me, and also with the forensics team
01:17who are also leading all this part of the bodies of the tribunal, the bodies of the victims under the
01:24rubble.
01:24But more and more news of what has happened in the last couple of hours is that we received reports,
01:30there were reports on social medias, and there were reports coming from other journalists and from international media referring to
01:36possible survivors on that occasion to Korea, which is to my right.
01:39And very quickly, part of our team here in La Guayra deployed over there to confirm the facts, and there
01:46was, in that location, there was a rescue team from Portugal, Spain, and Mexico.
01:52The operation was being led by the Spanish team, and they confirmed that there is no life, unfortunately, there is
01:59no life in that building.
02:00So, that rumor that has been spread from social media, we can confirm that it is not true.
02:08That building, the authorities, the specialists, after they redid a whole analysis of the structure, they confirmed that there is
02:14no life in that building.
02:17There is another operation in development right now in Cate Alamar, which is to my left, quite far to my
02:24left.
02:25There is another part of our team that is currently deployed to that location to verify the facts.
02:31The communication right now in that area is a bit spotty, so we have not had contact with them.
02:36So, when they return here to our broadcasting center here in La Guayra, we'll have more update information, and we'll
02:42be able to update our viewers on how that is going in that area of Cate Alamar, in Ocean Beach,
02:48in an Ocean Beach building which collapsed.
02:50So, we'll have to stay tuned to see what happens there as well.
02:53As I was telling you at the beginning, rescue operations continue.
02:56We have seen in these afternoon hours a lot of movement, especially coming from the air helicopters, bringing down humanitarian
03:04aid to support solidarity aid, to support the people here that are currently taking shelter in temporary camps.
03:10As we're saying, there are numerous temporary camps that are housing all the people, the thousands of peoples, that lost
03:15their homes in the devastating earthquakes.
03:18So, that's what's going on right now.
03:20Thank you so much, Lisi.
03:22Lisi, we will keep moving, we will keep...
