Dear Friends,
I decided to dig out a wildlife pond in my back garden to help my local birds have a safe spot for water to drink and bathe in.
Took me a while as I had left it late in the season and the ground was already baked dry like concrete so it took some effort to dig out.
Did it on the cheap too as I have no funds to spare at the moment so I got an inexpensive liner off Temu and used anything I could lay my hands on as an under liner... a couple of old exercise mats, some old car mats, an old blanket etc..etc..
Within a month though the pond has settled in and the birds have become regular visitors... house Sparrows, Tree Sparrows, Spanish Sparrows, Great Tits, Warblers, Goldfinch and even one of the local White Storks has been coming down for a drink..!
I'll be adding bits and bibs as time passes.. more rocks, pebbles & boulders as well as a sandy beach for the birdies to dust bathe.
Anyway... hope you enjoy watching and hopefully I'll be back agan soon with another...
