00:00Well, at this point, unfortunately, it's a tale as old as time.
00:05Technology taking people's jobs.
00:08Oh, I thought you were going to go Beauty and the Beast.
00:10Well, that's also excellent tale as old as time.
00:12You are absolutely right, Donnie.
00:14However, you know, since like the industrial revolution, think hundreds of years ago, people were losing jobs because machines could
00:22do it better.
00:23And now the real threat is AI.
00:25And like so many other companies, Ford thought that AI could do the jobs of humans.
00:33And now they're saying, oh, we were wrong.
00:38In fact, Ford has hired more than 300 experienced engineers over the past three years to strengthen its product quality
00:47after determining that AI alone wasn't meeting the company's expectations.
00:53Well, that's good.
00:54Yeah.
00:54They fired AI.
00:56They fired AI.
00:57They demoted AI and said, we need some humans up in this biz.
01:01I mean, they could afford it.
01:03Right.
01:04Nice, Donnie.
01:05See what I did?
01:06Yeah.
01:06Many of these that were hired were actually former employees of the car company.
01:12And they determined that, listen, these engineers need to be on site because AI is only as powerful as the
01:20minds behind it.
01:21Right?
01:22The minds working alongside of it.
01:24Yeah.
01:24Making sure it works properly.
01:26Many issues went unidentified or unsolved.
01:29And they finally said, hold on.
01:31We got to do the right thing.
01:32We got to hire some people.
01:33So 350 people hired.
01:35Boom.
01:35For Ford.
01:36That's awesome.
01:36And I hope more places follow Ford.
01:40Right.
01:40And I'm not anti-AI.
01:42Let's be real.
01:43I think there are so many places where it sees fit.
01:47I mean, I work really closely with different ALS organizations that help try to find treatments and ultimately a cure.
01:53And AI is making a world of change in the medical space.
01:58Not just in ALS, but in many, many areas.
02:02And that's great.
02:03That's great use of it.
02:04I even use it from time to time when I need a little bit of grammar help or something.
02:08Oh, yeah.
02:08Help me clean up this, you know, YouTube description I put up on the Andy Summer Show YouTube.
02:13Yeah.
02:14I could use a little help from time to time.
02:16But I don't need it taking people's jobs.
02:17And clearly Ford agrees.
02:20Let's give it up for Ford Motors.
02:21Let's give it up for Ford Motors.
02:23All right.
