00:00Speaks and I have been having a conversation in the last couple of days about Craig and how he's managed
00:05this, like literally managed this.
00:08And there are times and there are people that will tell you, well, managers don't matter as much.
00:12They just have to fill out a lineup card, even if you're in that school, which I disagree with.
00:17But even if you're in that school, you have to look at what's happened over the last three weeks and
00:22go, wow, Craig has done an incredible job.
00:24Yeah, I mean, I think managers obviously matter for setting the energy of the group and standards and things like
00:32that.
00:32But if you have five horses that stay healthy all year long in your rotation and a bunch of position
00:37players that produce, I think a lot of the decision making isn't as impactful at that point.
00:44But when you hit a wall with chaos and change and things going sideways and the things are still pointed
00:50in the right direction and the group is making the most of everything that we have,
00:54I think, you know, that obviously points to some really great decision making on his end and putting people in
01:00positions to succeed.
01:01And yeah, he's been amazing.
01:03There was a quote from him over the weekend about how, well, when everything's going on like this, you're not
01:09getting any breaks.
01:10You got to make your own breaks.
01:11I don't know. There's something there's something that felt sort of like, well, we're all in this together.
01:15Like you guys are in a foxhole together dealing with this.
01:18Has that mindset, does that resonate at all with how some of you guys feel or maybe what he's even
01:23said?
01:25Yeah, I mean, I think there can kind of be some some freedom within that where it's like you remove
01:29expectations some when things are just kind of chaotic, right?
01:32Like it's just OK, let's let's just do today, like just do it as well as you can.
01:37And, you know, the same goes for kind of weird schedule of the last week, right?
01:41You know, you get rained out twice.
01:42And we talked about how that maybe one day of a rain out is good, but then to create some
01:46real challenges.
01:47And, you know, anytime you get to predicting and baseball is not worth much, but you go into seven day,
01:53seven games and six days and you lose two starters and two bullpen guys and play all the games on
01:58the road.
01:58And come out of it, you know, six and one is just like testament to a lot of people just
02:03competing as hard as they can in the moment and a couple of bounces our way.
02:07And all of a sudden, you know, ended up being a really, really impactful week for our season.
